Lighting 39V 2.1A COBs good/cheapish drivers?

I like this quite a bit but may I make a suggestion for improving your design?!

It would be beneficial to cover the top fins with a thin piece of alu plating and flip the fan around (and if you got one; use a static pressure type fan)

So a thin piece that covers the whole top of the heatsink or just butted up to the fan ?

I started out going passive with big heatsinks. Then after reading and thinking, I'm going active with all my lights. I'm adding fans to my light and I'm going to build a couple of light engines.

I have given up on passive heatsinks in the uk so i just used a 40cm piece of aluminum heatsink with 4 clu-48-1212s 4 bjb holders a 120mm fan and a hlg 185h-1400b driver with a potentiometer so i can dim the light from 200w to 20w.this thing is bright,even when people like @BigSm0 say you will be shocked when you turn them on,its an understatement sooooooooooo much light hahahaha

:slap:

Well done bro !!

But why only 9cm between the COBs if they could cover nearly 30cm between them according to @BigSm0

You could actually go up to 45 cm is you wanted. I'm sure it depends on your space and the available heatsink. If doing pins I'd do the same if I was to buy a bar I'd go closer together.

@2Stoned2Care Very nice looking light!!:slap:

@pop22 nice thought and nice look bit of kit!

Have looked into the nuventix synjet?

I looked at them for

And

Buy couldn't find a price for them, heatsinks have prices but not the nuvetix fans. I think I've looked at every form of cooling cobs in the last 3 months, I even thought of putting hamsters on 4 wheels with fan blades on them lol

I'm in the middle of an exterior face lift on my house. My 120w converted mars has been very helpful for those late hours lol. I'll be super busy the next week or so guys. With all the great light builders here you guys should be able to hold down the fort?
