Lighting 39V 2.1A COBs good/cheapish drivers?

Ok.. I've been playing around a bit and checking what would fit my tent the best.. Here are some patterns:

8 cobs all same strength.

4 cobs same strength

8 cobs, 4 strong and 4 half

they all use the same ies profile of the citizen cobs but I adjusted the exposures so I could identify the hotspots better. The last one I think would fit my tent best and will be the one I'm going to build towards. I'm gonna start with the 4 outer cobs (figure 2) and transition those to the inner positions when I expand the setup.

Now I just have to come up with a nice base shape to mount the 4 outer ones in while leaving a space in the middle for my mars light that can be amended with another baseplate later to fit the other lights.. or maybe all 3 :P

I have all the citizen charts if you need them or are missing any.

Yes 2 stoned driver heat is common. It's actually much less with meanwell than others. I believe this is from it's higher efficiency. I have some lsd drivers and you can notice a huge difference while being 1/4 the power. The hottest thing I have touched was my ceramic metal halide or cmh ballast. I purposely took them off the wall cause I was scared it would torch the Sheetrock

Thanks to cobkits.com bobby_g is a real classy guy with to much knowledge when it comes to cobs. Same goes for robin at northern grow lights. This is why I'm always recommending these guys. I have accounts through a few distributers but really like to support the guys who provide all this info and make DIY possible.

Big thanks for that!! :bighug:

Edit: PAR is what?

Photosynthetically active radiation

Usually tested with a meter but it not sure the height these were tested from.

Basically it's all the light that falls within the400-700nm range.
