Well, that make more sense than anything I've heard on the issue. The scale I would use is on the Fox Farm and Big Bloom charts. i.e. "for maximum,...1400 ppm.
I use a Sharp TDS WP T76 ppm meter calibrated at 1100 ppm. That all worked out great for me while using a flood table. However, upon switching to two 6 bucket systems, as described above, I've gotten what looks like a nitrogen problem. yellowing between leaves and purple stems, resulting in dry crumbling leaves.
Do I need more or less nitrogen?
For supplements, I use CaliMagic 1-0-0 and 1 drop "Superthrive per gallon of water.
