Only 2nd grow. 1st time they needed water every 4-5 days and then more so when they got bigger. These guys took water 8 days after going into a moist pot and haven't gotten more since. That was day 8 from showing above soil. It's now day 14 and I fully expected to water but frankly only the top is dry. It's still pretty moist underneath. I wouldn't care except I'll be away for 3 days and, you know. They're in Happy Frog with perlite 3 parts to 1. 30 inches under an led light. There's ventilation. It's about 75* and 65% rh. So they're 2 weeks old and developing. If I weren't watching the calendar or if I'd watered them 3 days ago I'd never consider watering them. A watering 3 days from now will mark 9 days in between, double what I did the first grow.

Can I trust them to get along 3 more days without trying anything tricky?

Hey turtle, I grow with LED and I have found on some occasions, the top is dry and the bottom is still good. I would have let them go the 3 days and dried out a bit. As the pot dries, it makes the roots search out water, promoting better root growth. Too much water and you will stunt them. If they get too dry, they will droop a little, but bounce back, when you water them again. Best rule of thumb, is to lift your pots NOW, while they are watered and note the weight of the pot. When they are in need of water, lift them again and the whole thing will feel empty, then its time to water again. If you find they dont dry out as fast, water them with less volume of water more often. If you get the weight, timing, and more frequent waterings with less water, your yield will increase!! Hope this helps.

Good to get equal but opposite opinions. A reflection of my dilemma. Where are those root endings and are they seeking new haven or drying out? 9 days between water doesn't pass the smell test.
