Just thought I would post a pic of my pc box I have just built.
I will be running it like a perpetual grow and popping a new bean in and harvesting one every 25 days. It's my intention to get a harvest every 25 days.
It will house 3 small plants (which I will keep small by using light lst and small pots.
It's lit by a 70w hps. It's got a 60mm and 80mm fans for circulation and a 120mm fan for extraction. It currently has a passive intake though i might add a 40mm intake fan after i seal up all of the light leaks.
I'm using a standard 4" carbon filter.
Before this goes into use I need to eliminate all light leaks which is turning out to be a bit of a nightmare round the side panel. Any ideas on this??
I have done some initial temp checks which seem encouraging, it runs approx 25-27'c just below the hps and approx 22-24 just above the pots.
However I have only had it running for about 4hrs and it is still winter.
I will need to do a couple of 16hr runs to make sure the temps hold.

Before running this as a perpetual box I plan to test it by doing a feminised seed run (no room for reg seeds in here).
I plan to cross my purple jems within the new Autojack strain to make my own strain of purple jacks. :)

Any comments allways appreciated. :)

how's the heat issues.....thats a clean set up!

Cheers for the nice comment. This is my third pc box and each time you learn a bit more. I think I am now at the point where I am 100% happy with how my pc box looks and runs. I prefere to keep everything tidy with wires hidden away ect... It just looks better and is easy to keep clean. I went with a shop bought filter this time as I am fed up with DIY ones not working very well or needing changing all of the time.

As for temps they seem quite steady but I need to run it a full 16hrs to make sure they don't start to go up. It is still winter here and that makes a big difference.
I may need to add a small intake fan if temps get too warm.

The only problem I really have is getting it lightproof. I'm having some major problems with this box that I haven't had with previous boxes.

Neat set up!
does that 70 W HPS is enough for the vegetative and flower growth? Would CFL's be better for seedling and early vegetative growth?

Hi
I like the setup.. 70w hps that is about 6000-7000 lumen.
That is damn good in that little pc box.
Looking forward to this thread
Happy growing
Peace

im curious to know if that air filter is going to do a decent job in that configuration ,on top of it plz tell me if that fan is actually able to work with a filter like that becauz i have a simillar one but i have ben hesitating to actually use it becauz i only have 24 volt pc fan's for my micro setup lol

Very interesting little set up you have there! Keep them temps down and this is going to be a beast of a micro grow!

I was wandering the same thing, is the little fan strong enough to suck that air through the filter and is there no smell of cannabis?

I have done a few more tests on the temps and the temp started to rise to the high 20's with the 120mm fan . I believe this is because some of the 120mm fan had to be blanked off due to its size. So I swapped it for an 80mm one and it fits perfectly and I can confirm it keeps the temps in the mid 20's so I'm well happy. :)
As for the smell, well I lit a blunt in it and left it in there smouldering for a few mins next to the filter and got absolutly no smells coming out so I'm going to assume that the filter will be good for a few microplants. :)
As for vedging with a hps, well I know a clf grow light would be better but that would defete the object of the project so it will very much be a 'try it and see' approach to it. I think the worst that will happen is they will stretch a little bit.
It's currently not doing anything as I am having a few issues getting my seeds (for my seed run) to germinate.
But I will keep you updated as soon as its up and running.
I think this should be an awesome little box. :)
