Grow Mediums 8.5 Liter Small Pots Experiences?

hi guys!

i wonder, just growing regular photos has worked out nicely for me with the small easy2grow autopot system,
so how have your guys' experiences been with autoflowers?

would you plant/start them directly in the pots to avoid transplant shock which seems to be a big issue?

anybody with autoflower experience on those please chime in, thank you

I've been slowly transitioning from photoperiods to auto's over the last couple of years, pretty much 100% out of the photoperiod business now. And I haven't used autopots, but I did build an eight-pot / 8-liter / two gallon flo n'gro system for one of my last photoperiod grows. Fairly similar in size if not technology, and it worked great. Eight plants, 400W HID, did 15 oz. of green crack and Chemdawg. So it beat the gram-per-watt gold standard for yield. I was happy, but got wrapped up with auto's and quit using the system.
If you start your seeds in rapid rooter plugs there is absolutely NO transplant shock. I like to keep mine in a Folgers' coffee can bubble cloner with a weak (1/4tsp./gal.) nute solution about 1/4 - 1/2" below the bottom of the netpot, under a 23W CFL. Let the roots grow down into the nute solution, and when the plant reaches three nodes you can transplant it no shock. If the roots have tangled around the 2" netpot, just plant pot, rooter plug and all. The roots take off like crazy & plant never stops growing.
The autopot system will work admirably for auto's, go for it!!!

If you can grow photos in the those you can grow autos no problem. Even XL super autos.

There is no right or wrong or overall general consensus on what method to germinate and do the seedling nursery thing. I'd say its really what you are most comfortable with and are used to doing. With autos, I don't think they suffer much issue from transplanting at all as long as you do it in a good way.
