hey guys
I'm doing my first coco grow and I've run into some conflicting information. Hoping some more experienced coco growers can give some input.

1- PH. I am using House and Garden Coco nutes. The feeding guide says to feed at a PH of 6-6.5. I also see a lot of people running a lower PH under 6. Is this something that varies based on what nutes you are using? Or is the feeding chart incorrect?

2- should I be testing my runoff for PH or PPM? Will this accurately tell me that I am keeping the PH correct in the medium?

3- Is it better to keep the Coco wet or let it dry out between watering? Again I've seen conflicting information here. Is letting it dry out only for buffered Coco?

See if anyone can give me some ideas here.

Right first off welcome to AFN mate and the wonderful world of coco I've never used house and garden I use canna coco in veg (growing) I let my ph sit between 5.7 and 5.9 and in flower 5.8 to 6.2 as long as you get between these numbers your good to go just a word of warning autoflowers tend to be a bit sensitive to nutes most of my grows i haven't gone above half strength of the manufacturers recommended dose I only water to run off about once a week stops salt build up and I always keep my pots wet after your roots are established around 3 weeks it's very hard to overwater and also coco has no nutrients in it so feed from the start I think that's all but I'm very stoned any other questions fire away also read all the stickies at the top of the page very helpful info good look and tagging along for your grow [emoji106]

I grow in coco, but have no knowledge of House and Garden nutes. I use Floranova grow and bloom.

I am just finishing my first grow and I tested my Ph & ppm run-off every day. I probably wont do this so often once I've a little more experience. I basically test what's going in and what comes out. I found this method on growweedeasy.com. It's not an altogether accurate method, but the majority of meters we use are hardly accurate either. I found that it's more reliable to test the second lot of run-off water. I kept my Ph at 5.8 and increased to 6.2 in late flower. The run-off Ph usually came out .2 higher than what went in. I did the same with ppm testing. The run off ppm was always higher than what went in, but I tried to keep this within a 300ppm difference. So, if 700ppm went in, I would try to keep the run-off below 1000ppm. If the run off ppm is too high, that usually means a salt build up and I'll usually water with less nutes until the run-off ppm is within a reasonable range again.

There was a two-week period when I didn't do testing and quickly ran into problems with a salt build up. I found that when the run off ppm was very high, it would have an effect on the Ph. Unlike Wile who has a lot more experience, I water to run-off every day. I also allowed the coco to dry slightly in between watering's and actually only watered once a day with a 20% run-off. In the final weeks of flower, I did water twice daily. Apparently it's better to water more often in coco, but I already had very high humidity in my tent and anymore water would only make it worse.

Hey I'm getting some spots on one of my plants. Check it out and see if you guys have any suggestions.
Also my runoff ph is at 6.8 and doesn't change at all. I flushed like 10 gallons through at 5.8 and runoff is still 6.8.
Link to the grow is in my sig.
