Hello All. I am currently on a hiatus from growing because I have guests in and out until August and it is to much of a hassle trying to keep everything secure and stealth. So I have planted a few tomato plants to keep me occupied. Does any one know what would cause the problem below.

I promise I will not turn this into a tomato thread but any help would be appreciated. I tried to join a tomato forum and the people were all dickheads.

I think I figured it out. They are called leaf miners. Basically a gnat. I treated them with some neem oil. I have had bad luck with the soil and gnats I have purchased from the box stores. I used top soil, mushroom compost and cow manure compost. My next grow I am going to step up and try some pro-mix or black gold. Thanks guys. AFN is the only forum I have been a member of and I tried a tomato forum they were very harsh with a new grower. They need to smoke some weed and chill out.

1guy--*ooof* that's a serious leaf miner invasion bro'! They're a caterpillar type bug, eating the central layers of tissue in the leaves,... easy to kill though,.. there's a readily available product(s) that contains a bacterium that kills them when ingested or sprayed onto... great, because it not a chemical pesticide, harmless to most other bugs (it's the same bacterium that's in mosquito dunks), and leaves little residue,... neem oil, pyrethrum, something with Spinosad in it, all will also do the trick just fine! Using a water spreader/wetting agent with the spray will really help get the stuff to the bug.... :goodluck:

Lol those goddamn tomato gardeners. They are always dicks!

Dude, my wife said the same thing while looking for some tomato help. I didnt realize how hard it is to find friendly tomato growers online.

I told her just to join AFN.

Good luck with the bugs. I've heard positive things about the neem.
