Hey,
I have a N def and possible K as well due i think to lock out. I was using a crappy soil tester but have ordered a good one now. Its coming from US to UK will take a week or so. While i await i wondered if anyone could answer this - are they likely caued by pH too high or too low?
She is in b&q verve mp compost which contains plenty of lime as it says bad for ericaceous plants. It was fed once with ammonia nitrate and has had tap water left for 24hrs the rest. It is hard to check water hardness as it varies greatly around my area and the crappy tester always reads 6.9 regardless.:o
Plant is big bang 2 and is about 4.5 weeks old.
Thanks if anyone can input some knowledge as i suspect prob too high!?

I would guess its low K can be taken in at pretty high ph levels

If it's truly N&K, then it's a low pH lockout - can you post pictures for us to advise by? It'd help a ton. As well, you should still get a liquid pH tester because that way you can test the pH of your nutrient solution AND the pH of your run off from the soil. Using both the soil meter and the liquid meter will give you the most accurate reading possible of your soils acidity.

Hey sorry i only have this pic from about 7 days ago.View attachment 170296

I gotta get more batteries for my camera tomorrow. It got quite bad on lower leaves and some fell off, i trimmed the rest. Middle leaves have slight yellowing on tips and new growth is pretty healthy barring a couple with the tiniest of yellow tips. I have been told that's N def. also the main stem has a very light purple stripe which I was told is K def.
It is growing well I have to raise my light(400w HPS DS) almost every day. I usually water every 3 days but i could water every 2 really judging by the weight of her. I have a moisture tester and that also says 3 or 4 on scale (1 being completely dry, 10 being soaked)
Hope that helps a bit I will post some new pics tomorrow if I can.

1 last thing - I have a critical growing also its about 3 weeks old and is in exact same setup, I haven't given her any nutes at all yet she looks really healthy.

Check your soil temps as low temps can stop the ability of the plant to uptake nutrients. If it gets below 15 at lights out that may be the issue.

edit// Don't let them get too dry either as they need moistness in the soil to be able to uptake nutrients as well. once top 2 inches of soil is dry, your good to water.

thanks friend. my temp is usually around 26 - 28c lights on and round 19 -20c lights off never been below 19c. I may water a bit earlier next time though as what you said about dry soil could be a prob. When i feed it with just water the next day it usually shoots up about 2" and produces lots of leaves.

The crappy tester is two pronged thing from b&q and just wondered if anyone new what degree of accuracy they have ie 0.1 it doesn't say which suggests it is pretty poor!
I only ask as im tryin to educate myself and as it reads 6.9 i guess it must be higher as surely can't be so inaccurate that it would be low pH causing lockout!i tested it on water with KNO3 in and it read 6.5 just thinkin i may adjust water pH down a bit while waiting for good tester!
