Hello from Scandinavia :D

Been struck with bad luck for two years in a row now. This year I am going strictly autos and no earlies to avoid the hunting season. I have already bought some autos from Norden seeds but I am always up for more but the thing is that normal autos don't do that well up here. I have tried some from Sweet Seeds and they didnt grow half as good as when grown in southern Europe.

Around here we have 3 months with 20-25C but the night temps are around 10-15C and that seems to affect the plant growth unless they are acclimatized. Acclimatized autos and earlies work perfect since the light cycle is around 20/4 for the whole summer. So anyone with tips on how I can broaden my strain library for the summers project I would love to hear from you

Now don't quote me on this, because I don't have first hand experience with this, but I've heard Hindu Kush is a hardy strain, and the reason given was due to where it's from (a cold, mountainous region). There's a auto version available. I would imagine most strains based on land races from colder regions would do well, considering that's where they were taken from. Along those lines, indica strains should do well (as Hindu Kush is) because they're typically from colder, more arid regions.

I've also heard purple strains tend to do well in colder environments, but again, I have no proof of this. Best of luck!

Thats probably true. I had some Purple Mazar autos last year but my with bad luck I didnt get to see them bloom but they looked good at first. I am mostly looking for strains that have been acclimatized in northern Europe or Canada but I might try some Hindu Kush as well, thanx for replying :)

Hi drasut my sumer temperatures are only a degree or two hotter im above 53N. DP Auto Mazars have been one of the best Iv grown outdoors at my latitude. Iv seen Frasain Dew photo do well around northern latitudes so Id say there auto version should be good but Iv yet to try them. The bigger the pot or grow bag the better preferably black for extra heat & add extra perlite for drainage. Good luck with your grow :smokebuds:

I'd love to hear results from both of you, a list of cold hardy strains would be interesting to have, especially considering running certain plants into the colder months results in beautiful colors!

well in grew dragons outside last year.im farther south however we got 25 degree nights---no cover outside 24/7 took longer---weren't as big---but didn't loose one.the dragon line is the dragons I speak of.mossys stuff.ill locate some pics and post. this is feb or march with 30 days or so growth------ https://www.autoflower.org/f6/jems-...set-leaves-under-couple-cfls-6520.html------i started under cfls for a couple weeks then put outside for rest of time.handled cold very well.i saw them with snow on leaves for a day and still they lived on. notice in pics---no growth on anything other than plants.was cold then!!!

Im at lat 53 and the quickest autos ive grown are the auto blueberry (DP) and the supercritical auto (GH) they do the business in 70 days, other strains which should take 70 days usually need another 3 weeks but these 2 are hardy and pruduce decent weed quickly.
Good luck
