According to this authors blog, aact's are pointless?

People who compost tea are stupid! Here is a picture of my stupid tea:

I don’t know anything about the science. I put it in my DWC buckets. But the plants seem to like it. That’s enough for me.

I agree with the writer of the blog.

no doubt compost is good, and I can imagine compost tea does give some of the benefits of compost, but why go through the whole process of brewing teas when you can get the full benefits from simple compost already?
one of the big things of compost is the organic matter it adds, and in case of teas I think you strain out a lot pof the solid stuff? so you only get the dissolved organic stuff, but lose out on the solid organic matter. while simple compost has the full package.

Good compost is hard to beat, having worms in your pots or soil doing their thing (making castings and laying cocoons) is even better. People aerate their teas because it vastly increases the number of good microbes, it also makes a smaller amount of compost go further. I would suggest anyone to use AACT's, especially when they are trying to kick start their soil with a colony of good microbes. I don't use AACT's much in my pots anymore but my soil is writhing with worms, I figure they are doing enough in there to make it happen.

Straight compost might be ideal for soil, I brew the tea and put it directly in the DWC buckets .... puts a little organic goodness in my otherwise mostly sterile system, and I don’t bother to filter it either, I pour it as is. The remaining sludge forms a nice base for the next batch. Once in a while I rinse off the air stone, otherwise no complaints.

I see compost tea as a microbe booster if needed . As I make my own soil , microbe building is a big part of it . Worms play a huge part too . Fish Hydroysate - Molasses -- both are big microbe foods . Get your soil right and compost tea is not needed , -- Feed the soil as the microbes are already there . I do make teas , just not compost teas .
