Hello growers,

Does GH nutrients, Diamond nectar, Seaweed, Cannazym are necessary for the grow in coco or you can run a basic NPK with GH Silica? My hydro guy says they will make the gains😁

Good base nutes are essential, should have enough silica but more can be added. You need base nutrients that contain all needed nutrients, not just N-P-K.

Cannazym is just enzymes to break down organic waste, cellulose, dead roots, etc. It's not a nutrient, is not essential/required, but is good to add.

Seaweed and Diamond nectar (humic acids) - good to add, but not essential. I more often use a fulvic acid product.

There are other additives you need more than these. For example, you should use 1 or more bloom boosters and with coco have calcium/magnesium on-hand if needed, etc.

Generally, you can do well just sticking with a single ompany's base nutes and supplements. For ex. for cost-effectiveness and simplicity with a good reputation it's hard to beat the MegaCrop/Greenleaf Nutrients products, with "samples" (enough for a tent grow to harvest) often available (just pay postage). I switch around using MegaCrop 2-part and Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Connoisseur base nutes.

I grow in coco with Masterblend, which is about as basic of a 2 part "all in one" fertilizer as you can get, and I have absolutely great results.

This is off a plant a grew in a 1 gallon grow bag in coco with masterblend. And that was just 1 of 4 of the main stems.

I personally think all that other stuff besides the basic GH Trio or masterblend is snake oil and completely unnecessary.

Also....is your hydro guy selling to you at cost?

OF COURSE he says you need them. He wants to make money.

Or you can order a 25 lb masterblend kit for $60

Part A:
240 grams of masterblend fertilizer
120 grams of epsom salt

Part B:
240 grams of Calcium nitrate.

Put each of those into a 1 liter bottle and then fill to the top with warm water to dissolve.

Then to make a gallon of water to feed with, its 10 ml of each A and B to a galllon of water.

Thats enough for 100 gallons of feed water. 600 grams = 21.16 ounces

400 ounces = 25lbs.

400 / 21 = 19

So for $60 you get enough to make 1900 gallons of full strength fertilizer water.

I get solid results, and that $60 kit is enough to last years.

Thanks for informative reply👊 I was looking into Megacrop but I'm from Europe. I have CalMag on hand if needed.
