Hello All

I have recently purchased a second grow tent to increase my production and add some variety. It will take a little time to get it all in order.

Here’s my question:

How should I setup my two tents? I have a 4x4x7 currently setup and running. I just bought a 4x8x7. My thought is to run photos and autos in the 4x8 at 18/6. My Autos would stay there for their lifecycle and the photos would veg. Then move the photos to the smaller tent to flower. Or should I just setup the larger tent to run photos start to finish and keep my smaller tent for autos?

I have a 4” and 6” inline fan and carbon filter for each. I also have 4 Autocobs (3500k) and a 600W MH/HPS cool tube to use temporarily until I find something else. I’m leaning towards quantum boards, however, in the winter I have to insulate and heat my tents as I grow in an unheated garage.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would use the 4x4 as a mother/veg tent and the 8x4 as an 1/2 auto 1/2 photo tent.

If you don't want to deal with vegging you could do clone straight to flower with vegging and do a sog.

So it would be

Veg/clone/mothers in the 4x4
Flower autos in one 1/2 of the 8x4
Flower photos with no veg in SOG style in the other half of 8x4

An 8 week photo equals 6 harvest a year. Then you just stagger the autos and you could possibly get an additional 6 or more harvest from them. The veg tent will have your preferred cloning method, your mothers(check out bonsai mother plants), and whatever seeds or clones you're prepping for flower. I would start my autos in the flower tent and my photos in the veg tent.

Once the first cycle begins with the photos I would take the next batch of clones 3weeks before harvest and switch them out at harvest straight to 12/12.

On the autos, I would just keep several in flower and several in veg for a perpetual. Smaller harvest but more strain variety and you could always do colloidal silver to generate several hundred auto fem seeds of your favorite Strains.

Thanks @Damien50

So for running the Autos, they would be at 12/12 for their lifecycle?
I can't give a good answer because on one hand, photos need 12 or less to trigger flowering whereas ruderalis is different. I would like to believe that lights with a high PPFD could push out enough to satisfy the DLI for autos.

Otherwise the yields may suffer.

I would just go one or the other personally. With photos it's quite essential to have two photoperiods, so if that is the situation, use the small (lol) tent at 18/6 - 20/4 and the biggun at 12/12. Keep the lighting spectrum centered around 3000°K for the flower room and 5700°K for the little tent.

Personally, I would load em all with Mephisto autos from the Artesenal and Illuminauto lines. Keep the higher K° lights in the little tent and start em over there with some serious LST in nice big 3+ gallon Airpots with Canna Coco, and practice getting into DWC in your ample space. Hell, have a campout with the neighbors.

Have the ladies graduate to the big tent at a month in or so. Use a 4 or 6" exhaust on the small and a 6" or 8" on the big with a nice fresh carbon filter and possibly an Inkbird controller to make your life WAY easier. You should be able to get a few pounds at a shot off the big tent...start new ones and keep a perpetual harvest happening every 40 days or so. Score 40+ ounces at a time...that's a zip a day if you're keeping score at home.

That should keep your pipe packed and your wallet thick...and with everything dialed in 100% you can probably hit close to 55-60oz every time you clean her out.

The perpetual auto farm is gorgeous....and you don't have to have a crazy amount of dope in the house like sea of green does. Remember kids... marijuana is still illegal in the eyes of the federales, and anything at 100 plants or more is federal pound me in the ass prison...aka Leavenworth and Victorville...for a lengthy piece of time. No. Thank you.

Exciting project....take some pics and stuff.

This is personal preference.

My personal preference is to simplify things by having a photo tent, and an auto tent.
I also use two smaller tents, and in one I grow 4 small autos, and in the other 2 larger autos.
I'd skip the photos.

Thanks for the insight @Dr.Bubbles . That gives me some more to think about. I’ll be getting my medical grow license as well as growing legally for a friend with MS. There’s nothing illegal about it here when you are registered as a medical patient and stick within your plant limit. I can grow 4 plants recreationally now but it is not enough to provide myself with meds and my friend so I would like to expand my operation. Currently I use Canna coco with Greenleaf nutrients in 3 Gallon fabric pots. I recently harvested my best grow so far with 6.4 zips from an SODK. I’m still growing individual strains to figure out which I like best. After that I will look into seeding autos that I like (Mephisto Bubbly Livers being one of them) and growing multiples or running some photos and cutting some clones. With more room I have more options.

I would have to say you have two routes you could go. My preference would be to veg and auto in bigger tent. Keep small tent empty then cut enough clones to fill it and flower.

You could also run full auto in bigger tent and run photos in small tent. But one thing you will notice about the photo period plants is the veg time. They take twice as long unless you start 12/12 from seed. But also when done right yield makes up for it.

Try: Sour Stomper and GWK. Best two Phisters I have had. Both world class. GWK is insanely potent, make sure your carbon filter is up to it. I smelled 2 plants from 100 feet away, all the way out at the road where the dog walkers mingle. Yikes.
