I've just been reading about your Aerogarden :

It says it uses only 30 watts of power, i don't think that will be enough to produce anything potent.

Do you have any additional lighting planned ?

30 watts sounds a little dodgy, sure, but in my mind it just might be possible to get a few grams. Add lights if you can.

The idea of the aerogarden is to retain simplicity and technology in an ergonomic fasion. By slamming some Chinese LED on top of it your going to take away from the "niche" factor. The cool ness I think. I say try it, try it with the 30, and if it doesn't work, BURN THE MOTHER FUCKER DOWN, no but seriously, try it.

Subbed! I have an old school Aerogarden. You will definitely need to do LST. If I were you I might even consider topping. The instruction manual and website even offer advice on pruning different plants. Their take on the matter is to think Bonsai in your trimming. For a small system I would suggest taking their advice. They love topping tomatoes....

You were in the right to put bubblers in it instead of using the pump. Those things are cheaply made and get plugged after every grow from the roots. It is obvious that the company wants their users to keep buying pump after pump.

I love the idea of LED lights because the old school ones have plain CFL's that burn the hell out of the plants if they stretch up to it. I use pipe cleaners and duct tape to bend the branches down. Maybe you could incorporate the trellis system somehow?

Another benefit of the LED lighting system is it probably won't be quite as bright. It looks cool to have a small plant on a desk but when it's becoming obvious that it's Cannabis it seems like a spot light on it with the old style ones.

If everything doesn't work out as planned don't throw it out. There is still a great use for the unit when it comes to cloning and reversing so you can get fem pollen.

I have supplemental lights in the form of cfls. Each of the bulbs are cool daylight and 27 watts. So 27 x 4 = 108 watts + 30 watts led. It's enough for one plant IMHO. But (there is always a butt) I am doing this for the first time. So any feedback is more than welcome. Thanks for the heads up on the light shortage, Wienerwoods, Steelrat and Fairlynew. Appreciate your feedback.

Ok its got teeny tiny leaves now. It's been about a 6 days. When should I start the Nutes?

I haven't read up on hydro in quite a while, but I'd think you want to wait until it has a few nodes. Aerogarden is hydro, isn't it?
