Live Stoner Chat AFN Site Feedback July 2015

These are great replies, this is what we WANT to hear! We don't need pats on the back; we need honest, constructive, critical feedback! :hump: Followed by pats on the back after you've just torn us down! Appreciate all the replies so far fellas; keep them coming.

I will start a new Feedback thread with slightly different directed questions in August.

Well there ya go problem solved.....

No I'm past that then all I have to say is I have been a member at one time or another of 5 different grower sites and afn is the only account I have left. Everything from the comps to admins to page layouts us hands down top of the line.

It's safe to say afn is the shit fo real.

Another thing i would like to add to my previous post is:

I have noticed There is no way of knowing what mods are supervising what section.
The old site had a box in each sub-forum detailing the name of the mods who looked after that area.
That made it easier to contact the right mod about badges etc...

Also when i receive an alert telling me a mod made changes that were asked for it doesnt tell you which mod did this.
It would be nice to know which mod helped you out as i find that its good manners to thank them afterwards.
Hope this helps.

Salutations,

If that's the right place for those in need of a suggestions box i'd like to submit creation of a pre-aproval room for people like me who often wonder what's a desirable and yet permissible topic, etc. Because i seem to get conflicting impressions on occasions and i often invest significant amounts of time, energy and resources on 1 single post before i even start final proof-reading - which is more than just 5 minutes (practically a 9/10 score i suspect!), euh... I dunno... Call it The AFN Purgatory Vestibule!... That way an acting moderator in charge can use the « Strike » character, for example, then release our work-in-progress text only after final approval. This would be a nice opportunity for members learning to deal with ellusive administrative matters under direct supervision and no public repercussions at all. Bidirectional cooperative exchanges would allow both groups to get acquainted with each other, etc. While preseving hamony and serenity...

Good day, have fun! :peace:

Grim, Mossy is working on some changes to the forum structure and staff right now, so we don't have a list available. I think she's looking at some time September to get that sorted out.

I don't know of a way to notify you of who fulfilled your request unless the staff member writes you a PM about it. We're often busy and juggling a lot of different things, so I don't know if that will always happen. But I think I speak for all the staff when I say that a personal thank you is not necessary. Just the fact that everyone keeps posting and enjoying the site makes us feel like our work is worthwhile!

Egzo, this is a community and as long as you aren't breaking the site rules, you can post about whatever you want. Of course there is no guarantee that others will want to engage you in that discussion, which again is just how a community works. Perhaps instead of spending so much time on a topic, you start off with some simple comments about the subject to see if others are interested. If a conversation starts, you can always add more information and get into more detail. Starting off with a huge, complicated post is not necessarily the best way to engage others. Sometimes people are busy and they just want to have an easy going chat. Just my :2cents:! :toke:

Salutations AndyBotwin,

...there is no guarantee...

My sincere apologies, i had to reflect on that for a while only to realize in the end i must be fair and simply admit i certainly do find that the [ Ignore ] button feels quite convenient myself at times!! Blame it on selective memory, i guess time turns precious as we age; also i can't hide i'm genuinely worried that there may be other issues related to imported hate, etc. But i don't wish to get much more specific than this, at least not at the moment. Blame it on cannabis-induced paranoïa & lasyness!...

:rolleyes2::tongue:

...spending so much time on a topic...

Actually there are simple tools i could befenit from. For example, the proof-reading delay of 5 minutes can be insufficient unless i'm posting a 1-liner. Also, i've noticed the "Strike" in-line (BB Code) editor funtion is absent but yet active, that's a button i'd appreciate having too!

In any case i understand the points enumerated in the reply, previously. It was well covered IMO. Thanks!

Good day, have fun!! :peace:
