tell me you have some Didgeridoo going on in the background........ :passit:thank you for sharing!

.... :growing::growing::growing: Hec', I want to camp in your back yard! :woohoo1: the more I see, the more I love it- :clapper:... spotted some cool orchids!...those big'un's up on the tree trunks near the Buddha, they look like Dendrobiums; recall what the flowers look like, or do you know which species it is? I botched the cycling on my Den. speciosums, they got the cool T's, but also got hit with too much rain a couple times, so they didn't bloom this season - damn, I wanted to get you pics this season! I post up some of last years,... lovely Laelia there, not sure who her neighbor on the right is?... has the thick leaves of a Laelia, but the pseudobulb shape is throwing me!... something else below the Buddha himself,.... Hec', in that pic, way in the background just behind that trunk or thick post(?), I see something with monster, thick strap-like leaves, light color, darker green fringed,...looks like a monster bromeliad -? Very cool plant,...:greenthumb:

@Waira hey brother while you're in the neighborhood, do you have a name for this lovely creature? It showed up here as a refugee. We don't know anything about orchids,we sure were surprised by the show!. Current pic and the bloom from last summer.

:laughcry: Sitar music will be brilliant too Hec', but after smoking this Acapulco Gold, it's already playing in my head! :smokeout::thumbsup:... (gaahhh- this vid' is disabled!)

...Jraven, how goes it mate? That is a lovely orchid! It looks like an Odontoglossum hybrid of some kind, but might be a species,.. if it was store bought, it's a hybrid, as species types are usually only available from shows or mail order,... Odont's are from the Andes in South America, cool growers, moderate light generally,... a very showy group, and used a lot in breeding! Man, this make me miss the days at the species specialty nursery I used to work at,..:headbang: What a job for a hobbyist! :coffee:... So, it looks close to needing transplanting,.. orchids don't mind, even prefer, tighter quarters, so when you transplant, go into a pot just a bit bigger, enough to allow a couple new growths' worth of space at most, never have them "swimming" in a pot, root rot will take then down; use an open mix of med. or fine bark and perlite; use a food made for then specifically, something with a fairly even balance of NPK, preferably urea-free (no 'crobes to break it down like soil)... feed mildly, 3-4x/month; Odont's will bloom from every new growth, but not older ones; best time to transplant is when new growth is underway, (not to late into it though ideally), this is when new roots will be forming best! Low ppm water will make them much more happy, hard water is disliked generally,... Oh, older back bulbs barely hanging on can be removed, sometimes eliminating the need to go to a bigger pot,... when you do this, let me know and I can help guide you on more specifics- .... have some wetting agent and root tonic on hand, to presoak the bark and treat the plant for stress,.. they are tough as hell really, but some love will see then hit the ground running!

Thanks @Waira that's awesome info brother. We'll probably transplant that in the next week or so. I see a couple back bulbs that have no new growth, a few that are shrively looking but with growth and the new hard shiny ones that are just starting new flower stalks. :thanks::toke:

:spels:--here's a cool miniature that's blooming now-- Chytroglossa aurata
