DIY Air injection domes definitely a DIY

purchased one AIT..waiting on another version,made somewhat like a netpot round edges. . Pic of AIT dome spider 7.5. Using 5 G buckets, i added hydroton in layer with soil.for better flow , then a little water .. waited for penatration flow.. topped again hydrot. Soil to desired level. . Careful with water.. every layer soil about 2 3 cupswater, wait for bubbling effect.. layer up, easyup on water. .

after adjust soil to water. .leave atleast 2-3 inches from topof bucket if more Soil is need based on water yo soil ratio..

I like using that black soaker hose and fittings to make air bubblers. I use a similar, sans dome, widget in my cloner.

I would like to try one in soil ! would be allot to clean if there was a problem compared to regular dwc..I want to see ya grow with it.

Was going to post up a little DIY air injection ring I made this morning to test out and came across this post after a search to see if someone had already done similar. I want to change up things from the air stones I've been using, and was searching around last night and came across this video:



While they are cheap enough though Modular Hydo's web site ($13 for a single, 4 pack for $40), I remembered I had some soaker line that I accidentally bought when trying to get regular line for some drip irrigation in my front yard. So, along with some washers and tee's, built up this:

Tested in a bucket and looks to make bubbles really nice and even. Couldn't find a cross fitting for the middle, so my two lines that go through there are just laying one over the other with no junction in the center. Don't remember what the hose cost, but should be pretty cheap for a 50 foot roll. Fifty pack of the 1/4inch tees ran $5 and it was 1$ for a six pack of 1/4 x 1-1/4 inch washers. Going to try it out when I move the seedling I've got starting to the net pot and bucket in the next few days.

I like the soaker hose bubbler. I built a big one for my DWC experiment. If the way things are growing means anything I think they are a big success!
One thing I did notice was the one I used for about a year got a bit fussy about making a nice stream of bubbles. However it was way easy to replace; I just cut some more hose to the same sizes and viola new bubbler!
