should I run lights 24/7....20/4....18/6..???

I am utilizing Autocobs and have been scheduling 20/4. I ran my previous mass built led lights full spectrum start to finish.

I think I was soaking the paper towel with too much water

Yeah, too much water on the paper towel is not good. You want enough water to where the seed kind of claws it's way to the moisture. I soak my seeds in a shot glass on warming pad for at least 12 hours before going to the paper towel. What specific kind of surface have you been putting the paper towel on?

Hawaii does not accept out of state cards....as of yet.,,they talk about changing the laws here , but things happen slow here...( island life) but you do not have to be a resident ...it takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks for your card ...so it's hard to get one while you are on vacation...the big island dispenseries are not open yet...red tape delays....as for mail order...that is a no also....been lucky so far ( only twice) .....mahalo for welcoming me...,aloha

I was putting the ptowel on a glass plate then in a ziplock on top of cable box that technique no work...too much water and heat I think... ....now I am putting ptowel in a glad ( Tupperware type) airtight translucent container...in a bow ...on cable box for about 6 hours to build up heat and moisture then in between cable now and wii...got tap root next day...try to keep temp in Lowe to mid 80's.....

How far away from plants do you have your lights...I am at 30" I lowered to 28" and it seemed to effect in a bad way...leaves started to cup a little...turned fan on...raised back up to 30"
Seems to be ok....gonna turn up intensity without lowering...I am at 30% R...80% B....80% W...gonna slowly bump it up to 50-100-100....manufacturers recommendations

Good morning(here on the east coast) @la'aloa Welcome to afn, sorry your having issues with germination. I would recommend rapid rooters from GH. They cost 13-14$ from amazon for 50. You just soak them in 5.8-6.1 ph'ed water for about 5-8 min. then squeeze excess water out, plant seed in the hole provided, put in a plastic shoe box( check dollar store$2) or storage bin with lid( cut 6 to 8 1/4 inch holes in top of container ) place on top of your cable box and in 3-5 days you will have sprouts. The rapid rooters will buffer the heat from the box and create 70-80% humidity. I have had 100% success using this method Cheers Chef Dave

How far away from plants do you have your lights

I begin my grows at 30". Current grow I let the plants grow to the lights. Even with leaf canoeing, there has been no debilitation. Two plants are 12" from Autocobs and have a few weeks to go. The other two, which are a little younger, the lights are a little higher. One cbd strain is surely gonna break my yield record. Yee ha!

So i have been doing paper towel germinations for a long time with exceptional success. I take 3 sheets of paper towel and fold them a couple of times and dampen them...you dont need soaking wet, just fairly wet. Put into a ziploc and put in a room with 80-85F temps. At the same time presoak your medium. In 24-48 hours the shells will split and you will see a taproot. Pilot a hole in pre dampended medium 3/8 - 1/2" deep and gently plant your already sprouted seed. In 48 hours she will come up. Using this technique i have 95% germination rates.
