New Grower anonamoose's first grow, northern lights auto

i think its either nitrogen or magnesium. would a dose of veg nutes (2-1-6) or calmag plus (also has nitrogen) be better?

I agree, although I can't tell which from the pics. Because it is spreading up from the lower leaves, it is a mobile element deficiency thus not sulphur. (2-1-6) are not veg nutes. you want something with a higher 'N' content. When fixing a nitrogen deficiency, you can get faster effects by foliar spraying too.

Hi anonamoose...I have a similar problem with a two-week old grow, yellowing and atrophy of the lower leaves, progressively going up the plant. At first, I thought it was a nitrogen deficiency (unlikely in a plant so young), or heat stress (it's 35C in the shade where I live at this time of the year), but a closer inspection found tiny black spots on the undersides of the lower leaves. I had thought it was soil splash from enthusiastic watering, but I'm careful with watering, so I got my mini-microscope out and had a look. Spider mites. No question. Not saying that's what is affecting your plants, but you can't rule out some kind of pest.

Looking like the start of a cal/mag deficiency to me. Just to ensure it's not a pH issue, what is the pH of your feeds and the pH of your run off?

i just watered with 1ml of plant magic magne cal+ in 1 litre of water. the ph going in was 6.8, runoff was 6.3. is that in range? im leaving home for a day so i didnt want to leave it untill i get back and the issue be worse lol. i watered 1000ml of ph'd water yesterday, im hoping i havnt overwatered and caused more harm than good. i will let it dry out more than usual to compensate for the overwatering, this a good idea? hopefully i come back tomorrow and the problem will be going! good news is the plant is preflowering :D thanks

also, ive only realised how useless my nutes are. the grow 'nute' is 2-1-6 and bloom is 0-5-4. they are advanced nutrients jungle juice (ill attatch a pic of the grow nute) can anybody recomend a good grow and bloom nute available in the UK? i cant find fox farm nutes, and the ones i can find seem to be from a dodgy site! thank you

Most grow shops in the uk should stock them if theres one near you , or greens will be just as good mate is it soil or coco cant remember all you need for a perfect soil grow is there grow, bloom and silicon imo but i like to add bits and bobs as ive a few grows under ma belt but thats all you need and remember they come in soft and hard water formats as well to suit your H2o

any probs just PM me mate any time :smokebuds::peace:

yeah it is soil. had a quick look on greens and they have the grow and bloom, but i dont know if the water is hard or soft... ive been using tesco bottled water lol its usually got a ph of 7.1 out the bottle. im assuming itll be a soft water seeing as its bottled or am i talking shit?

ill probably just get the grow and bloom for now, still learning lol ill get some extra nutes or the next grow, but as im still learning ill try and keep it as simple as possible lol. and thanks for the help and quick reply :D
