Assuming we have the same pot size for both which do you think would be better for growth, a recirculating DWC or an Autopot with air domes. things to consider:
In a RDWC most of the roots are submerged in oxygenated nutrient solution
In an autopot only a small amount of roots are in solution the rest are in soil/coco and are wick fed
You have immediate nutrient control with a RDWC whereas with an autopot you have to wait till the growing medium is empty of nutes ( i mean the soaked up nutes)
Air Pump failure would not be that catastrophic in a RDWC since we are recirculating but an air pump AND water pump failure would be. Whereas the autopot could survive the loss of airdomes as the nutrient refill is passive
I would have thought that the RDWC would be a better option for yield, ignoring pump failures
I have found a 2 pot RDWC that is not that more expensive than an autopot system with airdomes and have a few weeks to decide
Note there is mention of 25 liter autopots but i cannot find any for sale
