High mc, wow your girls are dark and looking ready to get real sticky! i was wondering if you tried to drop your lights a little closer?... not by a whole lot, just about 2 inches, and watch them..they will start to curl upwards around the edges if your starting to warm them a bit much. just try it when you can check them frequently, or if your like me..sit down and have a smoke and a chat with them. it will take a while to do permanent damage to them if you only go down a small amount at a time, and you watch them. we keep a 1000 at 24-28 inches & moving without having to use sunblock on the girls.
Have a Happy Holiday bro.

I've been worried most of the grow that their short stature was more to do with my light being to close keeping the nodes so right. I'm leaning more towards genetics now. Ill probably wait till after Christmas to drop the light to around 18in a lot of the nodes are already forming together haha so very curies to see how these finish :smokebuds:

Possibly genetics, though I've yet to see it, unless it just happens to be a VERY VERY odd pheno... I've personally grown over 25-30 ss x rd, I've noted on all of them actually they all got really tall and very uniformed in growth pattern... If you look at my 32oz and 16oz cup contests those were both SS x RD. Only less than 10 peeps tops probably have these beans, I've seen maybe three or four other grows of others and none have looked like that??? Who knows??? Plants and their many many underlying unexpressed genetics lie in each cross... Until something at least f4 or f5 you'll see probably a lot Of variations.... Hmm just for haha's I'll pop one again this week sometime.... ;)
They still are looking chunky and healthy!

Thanks may have gotten a short pheno but doesn't seem go be slacking in production. Regardless of why they are so stalky I'm pumped I pollinated these phenos I like a tall plant but maybe this will knock yield out of the park.

Thanks for checking in Yoda I have more so I'll hopefully see some other phenos to continue to backcross. Night temps in the low 60s just about everynight hoping I get some colors coming through:smokebuds:

Been rocking my brain thinking about this.... I am now also on the fence if it's genetics... Here is my thinking.... You have f1's of those beans... There was a photo pheno Russian dragon which is very short and stout by nature and packs one helluva a punch! From the Russian dragon beans I had photo pheno. (Which was not the parent of this cross) but from the same Russian beans a male that auto'ed was used... If would make sense than if it's the Russian dragon expressing itself....
I've mostly grown all f2's.... Out of 20+ I did find one that was slightly shorter than all of the others (not by much) and was a bit more bushier... I only saw her after 20+ grows and it was to late as I didn't have any pollen to dust her with again... Very interesting indeed Mclovin....very curious now... Got to one of these days pop more of those f1's to see if I can find that pheno as well... I'm willing to bet though if it is genetics and that is the RD coming through than it's going to be one HELLUVA a smoke! Sending a big :karma Cloud: your way... Excited to see how the rest of this turns out!

Well couldn't help myself, found a cooler that is 5 inches taller than what they were on. Now they are 19inches from my lamp. Heat won't be an issue its comfortable in they're now 75 and 30% rh.

Hoping to purchase a new 400w hps bulb on my next visit to the grow shop. This was used when I purchased it and I've done 2 full grows its probably lost a lot of punch.

Think a new bulb will have a drastic difference?

Thanks for all the help guys!:d5:

Hey all back from all the holiday cheer and made some purchases for myself.

picked up a 44gph pump, new tubing and a new airstone. Also a new 400w super hps to replace my near 3 year old generic bulb and Alaska Morbloom npk of 0-10-10.

I have been looking for a addition to my flower tea and thought this may be a good organic addition after talking with the local hydro shop. After doing post purchase research I found its not organic and contains low levels of arsenic and lead, already have a small batch brewing and wondering if I should toss it and get a better addition.

Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated as my ladies are in need of a healthy feeding this evening.

thanks for checking in"AFN smoke out"

Well took the plunge and gave just a little bit of feed to the both of them and let it bubble until tomorrow evening. the new bulb seems much hotter and a lot brighter, did some extreme leaf tucking to expose some of the other bud sites. hoping with the addition of the new bulb the lowers will bulk up a little quicker. Ill update with pics of everything tomorrow.
