What do you guys use-the HP or Bx? Also I normally use quite a bit of perlight like about 20-25 percent in the soil that I have used. I know my plants have done better when I use it than when I don't. Do you add additional perlight? I'm picking this stuff up this afternoon. Thanks-Pipes:peace:

I'm using promix bx right now with 30% added perlite and getting pretty good results but I'm switching to sunshine mix #4 because the ph of promix is too high for my liking when it dries out

BX has a higher amount of peat so holds a bit more moisture. It's best for HPS lights with their higher heat. HP is good for LEDs, CFLs and T5s. I'm running LEDs so normally use HP with no additional perlite. Due to the peat moss shortage I couldn't get HP the last time, so got BX and added about 10% additional perlite.

17.09% Aluminum Sulfate added at 5 grams per gallon of mix will solve that. pH will still rise a bit as the soil dries out, but it will keep it within an acceptable range. Plus there may be some benefit to allowing the pH to cycle through that range. I'm still experimenting with it but so far the pH is staying between 6.2 - 6.6 when feeding at 6.4.
