hey guys im pretty convinced on getting the 300X3W led panel from these guys, ive spoken to peter from there and he has given me all the answers i need, they cover all the spectrum's i need in one led unit and as for warranty they will replace any faulty parts if they do occur, and the 900W panel im getting draws 2W from every 3W diode so he says actual power is 600w, he has been pretty honest with me..
but is there anybody who has purchased this brand? i have read in another forum of some guys who have purchased it and had all positive things to say but i guess the more i hear they are good the more IL be tempted to hit that ******** pay button :peace:

Thanks for posting that. That continues to confirm what Ive thought about most LEDs for quite some time that there all mass produced in China just about and just sold to the makers of the dam things as something else. LOL. They think there so sneaky as well. It looks strangely similar to Advanced LEDs systems who swear they create there own units. In reality both of them contract it out to the same supplier and take the create on there designs. Buyer beware.

Hold on people, its not like that at all.

Though there are scammers out there that you should watch out for (some prominent USA led branded names for example, and/or China) the rated power vs actual power draw is a common practice in the LED world. They are not being dishonest at all in most cases. LEDs are manufactured to be under run so as to maximize life expectancy. 1W vs 2W vs 3W, lens angle, power supply, cooling/temp, even quality of local electricity may factor in and give different readings. Most companies will give you both, rated and actual power draw. If not, ask. (for instance: in the link you posted, in the bottom graph, you can see 50 x 3w but average rating is 100w)

What they do is give the idea of how many led chips. Remember most can be easily upgraded. So 50 led x 3W = 150w to work with. Bridgelux, Cree and Epistar are all differently spec'ed, and many combine different brand LEDs for optimum power and light spectrum. Usually, 2W and 3w are actually 1.5 - 2.5w. Some even as much as 50% less. This is not bad, its actually better.

Some companies even rate based on actual power draw, but even that is dependent on temperature, cooling, humidity etc etc... You have to keep a keen eye.

What you should do is calculate how much actual power draw you need for your area. There is no consensus, impossible right now, way too many variables, but what I am seeing is that 90% say that "it replaces a 600w HID !!" - it depends a bit. Too many brands and ratings. One man's 500w can draw 250 with very very high PAR (photosynthetic active radiation) penetration, while another 500w can draw 380w but with a very low PAR. Or the exact opposite. In this regard, traditional lamps are more reliable to "calculate" how much you need.

Personally, I just got 2x Blackstar 3w Bridgelux / Epistar 240w with IR and UV. Total of 480, total actual draw of around 300-360w I expect (haven't arrived yet lol). I hope this substitutes my 600w HPS handsomely, with better light spectrum as an added bonus. I spent a total of 320€ with shipping from China to my door. If not enough, 3 of these (720w) will certainly outperform a 2500 dollar/€ "super good branded" 900w LED that is overpriced.

(with a grain of salt of course, I hope you get the idea).

California Lightworks all the way. 800w 5 watt LED Diodes with built in T8 UVB bulbs. Pulls 690 watts and more then 4 watts per LED vice the regular 50%. Things a monster. Also got their Solarstorm 200w LED.

you got to have d

eep pockets for cali lightworks! good lights! but not the best bang for the buck!:2cents: for people with no money:D

now try it with a $1 to R8.50 (ZAR) exchange rate and $100+ dollars shipping :)
it literally is enough money to build 6 400w 60X60 grow tents, cooltube ducting and all
i have been perving over those 800's for a few months now,and i just cant do it
Back to the question at hand tho,i would be interested in reviews on this panel.
Solo, please let me know what u decide,Shadow mentioned u were importing a panel and i never got round to asking about it.
what brought you to eshinesystems?

Hey MrMcbud... Solarstorms really are expensive, but unlike Hydrogrow (and lots lots more), they're worth every penny.

But you can easily achieve the same results, or better, by custom "building" your own "solarstorm". I prefer to have multiple smaller panels so I can
position around the plant and provide better coverage. You can also get a T8 UVB much cheaper too, and smaller! Or even LED with that spectrum.
multiple 3w chips well positioned will do much better that 1 huge potent Solarstorm over your main cola.

IMHO, they are a bit too strong
for our ladies, in the typical situation of a grow tent. I haven't seen any yet, but it could theoretically even lead to genetic mutation.

Unlike the "usual" LED suspects, the Solarstorm is not made on purpose for cannabis plants and are really supposed to be hung much higher
and provide a lot more coverage. We have the habit of turbo-boosting the plant growth, which isn't bad, but its a tradition that came from HID's.

With LED you have to think a little different. You have a much wider light spectrum, so the plant actually uses the light better.

MrMcbud did u check out advancedledlights.com ?? check out their diamond series 800W and then check out eshinesystems panels.., i ordered the same spec led panel from eshinesystems, just waiting for delivery..

oh and guys many of the GOOD chinese manufacturers will do a custom led panel for you, meaning they will build your panel according to how you want it, so if you want your panel like some other panel you have come across then you just gotta clearly state to them what you want and they will build it for you.. and it will still be less than half the price of the leading branded panels with the same specs.
