Hi everyone

Have any of you got experience with overdrive? I feel like I may have started it a little early due to timing error. I thought two of my plants were the same age but turns out one is four days younger in flower. I’ve started overdrive at week 6 on one girl, and 5.8wks. There is plenty of orange hairs but still quite a bit of white hairs so I feel like I should maybe use big bud for a few days then overdrive. But my concern is that because I’ve already fed overdrive for two days, if I switch it out to big bud now it might cause problems? My app tells me my girl at 45 days is in week seven, however 45 days Is still week 6. Thanks to my app i think I’ve started overdrive early. Am I okay to keep running overdrive at 5.8wks in, or can I switch back to big bud despite having fed overdrive already?

Cheers

Here is my girl at 41 days that I may have started overdrive early on... she has some white pistils in the lower canopy and so on.

To me, Overdrive (1-5-4 plus some Mg) is essentially just another rather generic supplement/P-K booster. I use it throughout the later half or even more of bloom (mosts feeds at ≤1/3 dose recommended dose), and I recall others on AFN have reported they also ignore AN instructions about use just during the last few weeks. I even recall(?) at one time the legendary (in my view) auto grower TaNg used Overdrive as his only P-K supplement during bloom, likely along with his all AN pH Perfect Bloom from sprouting to harvest regimen. So don't worry about being off by a few days. Consider adapting your bloom supplements to your plants, their timing vs. using AN's schedule surely directed to photo growers.

[Otherwise, AN heavily promotes (hypes) Overdrive as a bud hardener, presumably meaning it induces congealing/gunking together of sepals. I don't care about this (I want potency and yield). And how does it do this anyway, get sepals to physically come/grow together in the last few weeks of life? Is this just AN B.S.? Is there some science to a supplement in last few weeks making buds 'hard?' How is bud hardness assessed/measured?]

I don’t go with their schedule either. My own understanding of what the plants need serves me very well. The only thing I take seriously is not feeding them b-52 in the first two-three weeks of flower because it sends the plants mental during their transitioning phase and can cause hermie. Overdrive I used once in the past when I wasn’t too experienced growing. I know it gave me more density as I observed. But I’m just wondering if I can use it for three weeks instead of the recommended two... I think I can get away with it. All I can do is watch and observe I suppose. And yes there is a shit ton of bullshit marketing with advanced nutrients but it does really work well. I like the fact I don’t have to ph, and I average 5oz with my autos using it. My best yielder was 8oz. Hoping for 6oz from these two. Super frosty and good quality so I keep using it. I will switch to the connoisseur version to test soon. I usually stick with coco bloom, b-52, sensizym, and big bud. I wanted to try bud candy but my hydro shop ran out. I will update on progress in future with overdrive results. I grow in a small space so I try to make the best out of them.

I'm using AN pH Perfect Connoisseur Grow and Bloom with RO-filtered water - works well for me. I've found this to be just as good, comparable to 2-part MegaCrop.
Care to share any pics of your plants using connoisseur brother? Would love to see. I was gonna use megacrop in the past but I’m a bit of a perfectionist.. well.. try to be lol. So I like to feed different things at different times. Megacrop is amazing for an easy grow. I grew plants with sensi bloom start to finish before too. I found using b-52 greatly improved my quality alone. I really wanna give voodoo juice a try. Seems like a good product. AN website is a riot nowadays though, they don’t put any effort into it and half of the pages don’t even work or show you details on their products. At least on my browser. I feel like for as long as AN has been in the game, there is still very little information on their products to date. They still haven’t bothered to develop an autoflower schedule either

Sorry, no pictures. Having decades ago had an encounter with DEA, everything I write on AFN is of course just fictional role playing.

I still presume AN Connoisseur base nutes are the best or up there with the best. I use Grow and Bloom (regular, not coco formulation) in coco/perlite without any cal-mage supplementation, other than maybe 1 or 2x foliar feeding in mid and later grow phase. But I see no need to mindlessly follow their set regimens, which as noted are surely directed to photo growers. I use ReCharge, sometimes a Tribus product, not Vodoo Juice, as my microbial supplement

I don't think Voodoo Juice is among the best. It lacks the diversity of other supplements, formulation seemingly has not changed over the years, others look to have higher titers, etc. Keep in mind, AN regimens (and here with a limited no. of microbes) fully expect you are also be using its complementary microbial supplements - Piranha and Tarantula!

Thats crazy lol.... I only just asked someone last night if it would be ok to use Overdrive a bit early..
I'm on day 41 too and wanted to try use it early to max out my nutrients.
I use AN Bloom A&B and then the last 2 weeks I use Overdrive normally.
Yours look ok mate.. maybe use a very very light feed next feed if your worried. But looking very nice in there.

Do you happen to know if overdrive can cause foxtailing. I’ve seen a few people mention it and looks like I’m getting some. My light may have been too close, I haven’t checked PPFD in a while. I raised the light anyway. But looks like I’m getting extension of the tip of the buds. Dunno if it’s genetics, haven’t noticed it on my other plant.

A few factors will cause this..
Too much N in flower
Light too close.
What Base nutes are you using ? And are u using any other AN stuff.

They aren’t getting much N. They’re getting pumped with overdrive and a light base feed. 1ml base/1ml overdrive per litre. I have been feeding them 4-5 times a day though. I think the light was too close, I adjusted it earlier and will take PPFD measurements tomorrow
