Aphids - I need help,first grow

Hello there,fellow growers.This was my first grow,harvested two of my plants and the other one is still in the tent,Gorilla Glue by Fastbuds.It's been 16 weeks,still not ready but today,I saw some pest underneath leaves.Searched for it and found they are aphids.What can I do about it? I keep the window open 7/24 because my reflector doesn't have cooltube and 400w makes it pretty hot.I think this increased the chance of getting bugs.

And another question,probably more important than the previous one;

I'm going to start a new grow in February.After finishing this one,I'll clean the room but is it enough to get rid of bugs after harvest?I mean,if I clean the room,the tent and move the tent to another room that has a window with screen,will this be enough for a safe start ?

That should suffice. Unlike with gnats which follow with the soil, aphids live out their life above ground. You can spray them NEEM oil, that would be the most effective and easiest thing. Horticultural oil also would work. They tend to group together and attack bud sites in packs, and at that point you can prune out a bit and remove many of the adults. If the plants are small enough you can take them outside and whack the bugs off with your fingers. Either way they are not going to follow you through a move to a new room. Think about getting some NEEM, it's not that pricey, and it is worth it weight in gold when you get bugs, and it works as a preventative for fungus and bacterial infections as well.

Hi green genes,thank you for golden advice and warm welcome.
I quickly made some search about it on web,people say spinosad is a good way to fight.But I also found something that sounds easier until I get that NEEM oil; dish soap+vinegar+water.
I think I'm going to do this tomorrow .
By the way,sorry for missing information about my plant.It is 16 weeks old,an autoflower,I started flushing it at week 12 because I thought it was almost ready to harvest but since then,all fan leaves died and trics never developed.Only buds and sugar leaves are alive now,they look healthy though,pure smell and frosty looking buds.
People on the internet said it could be normal because I stopped feeding and the plant started using nuts left in the leaves.
But today(4 weeks after flush has started) I saw those creatures on my plant,underneath leaves.I strongly believe now that aphids are the reason why growth slowed down.Trichomes still half milky/half crystal for 2 weeks and I'm thinking about harvesting it in a week.There is only one plant and I can't take it out of home,it's pretty crowded outside.
What do you think,should I harvest it right away or use some pesticides and leave the plant grow for few more weeks?
I took a sample and left it to dry,hope it's good.Fortunately,aphids appeared right after I harvested other two plants.I think I'm going to set my flat on fire ,lol

I'd be careful with vinegar, it will probly kill the bugs, but is also a natural herbicide. You can look all over the web and find vinegar weed killer recipies. At a minimum it will leave spots on your leaves, some of them may die.

Spinosad is a great one though, that will work as well as NEEM for bugs, but does not have other benefits like NEEM.

The soap water is in the recipe to help the active ingredients stick to the leaf longer.

I would keep going. Aphids are not that bad, they will not kill the whole plant or effect your harvest if you control them now. Another thing to keep in mind when using sprays in flower is to hold up some cardboard to keep it off parts you don't need or want to spray.

The internet people are right, the physiological response of leaf drop is called senescence, and is triggered by sustained flushing. A lot of people defoliate all the fan leaves during flower anyway, the plant will start eating the sugar leaves next. When those die off, time to harvest regardless of trichs.

The only thing I want to know is if NEEM oil helps fighting actual bugs on the plant or prevent bugs from appraching the plant when there is no sign of bugs on your plant.Or both?

That is the oil from the correct plant, but I am not sure if it is the same formulation as horticultural NEEM. In some countries it is also used in medicine and beauty products. It does look like a grow store though, so it is probably fine. I am used to different packaging. As long as it is in oil form, you will dilute it in water and put it in a spray bottle.

And it does kill bugs on contact, it also will repel them by scent, and if they eat the plant while the NEEM is still on the leaf, they will also die.

-- how bad is the infestation? these plants are in full bloom, right? Neem is out, it's too oily and stinky,.. so is Azamax,.. fortunately, aphids are easy kill's... yes spinosad containing product is fine, pyrethrum too,...even water plus wetting agent/mild soap, and some wiping will do,... main problem is them overpopulating and fouling the bud with their debris,.... be sure to do this with plenty of time for plant to dry out, you don't want to start mold issues!

I use a mix of neem and azamax. I also preventative treat my plants usually every 3-4 weeks. This leads to no insect isuues ever. Try to treat pre infestation when. Possible. As for now just use any of the methods members ha e posted they all work.
