New Grower apollo 4 to overpowering for seedlings ?

I cannot see how a apollo4 would be too powerfull for your seedling when people use 600-900w leds for entire grows. my good friend Hans uses a apollo6 with no problems at all. There is someting wrong but i can promise you its not your light bro.:Sharing One:also with leds you dont want HR over 60% your killing the life of your led. i know what it says for seedling stage but autos can handle low HR more than other strains if your HR is at 45% that is perfect bro no need to stress about getting it any higher

That's what I was thinking, there's no way a Apollo 4 is too strong. Unless it's like directly on top of them.

howdy all its been a while so heres my problem i started my seedlings off paper towel method really works a treat planted them in fluffy soil under my apollo 4 which is at a height of 76cm 30 inches the first 2 days they shot out of their shell never seen nothing like it the pots are rapped up in cling film which i left for a week and now just nothing i took the cling film off and the seedling started to shrivel so ive now put it back on what im wondering is is the light just too powerful has anyone experienced a similar kind of thing i have heard a few echos about leds my pots were drenched in 6.5 phd water which i left for 24 hrs before planting with the room temperature at around 26 degrees is the apollo 4 just too overpowering for the first couple of weeks ? strains are jack herrer and ak both auto hope i havent missed anything thanks for any input

I know some people like humidity domes, and other ways of sealing in moister. However, I find it to cause more problems than it helps. What you've got going is damping off from the soil being too wet/ too much moister. I've grown at least 60 different seedlings under 3 different LED growlights, and I've never had a problem. Don't cover your seedlings/pots with anything! I don't use domes, etc with clones either.

I agree with pop, get rid of the enclosure and let the soil dry out a bit, too much moisture will kill seedlings. Its called damping off....

hey guys
so heres the crack i took your advice about not covering the seedling but same thing happened the seedlings start really well and then nothing its about 5 cm tall and just stops doing anything dosent get any bigger looks healthy but no growth in anyway shape or form ive used a light fluffy soil with perlite and 6.5 ph ed water does anyone one know why this is happening and what maybe i should change i just cant understand why the seedlings get to a certain stage then 3 weeks later they look exactly the same please guys any info help or advice would be muchly appreciated so i can say its not down to my light which ive doubted for a while what is wrong they dont get overfed theyre in a room at 25 degrees with humidty variating between 40-60 % under an apollo 4 at about 70 cm which i have moved closer and further away to test but same results

Most probably your soil is not good enough. Everything else sounds OK.

well what would you recommend the choice is light and fluffy or horse manouered thick stuff obviously ive opted for the light and fluffy very low N P K values

sorry no pics but just imagine your seedling sprouted got her second set of leaves and then just dosent do anything stays the same just wont get any bigger !!! ideas ???

Without pics or what's exactly in your soil it's hard to diagnose, what it seems to be is that the soil was too hot and It burnt and stunted her.
