Well, the Amazon seller got back to me and said the one that is consistently 13-16% off is probably defective and I could have my money back. Win/win. I guess.

I thought mine was eating batteries but it was the metal housing for the battery working loose. I bent the bars and the springy bit to make it tighter. Works a treat and battery has lasted 8 months already.

I have two of these things, they eat batteries like crazy, but I'll pull one apart to see if they can be adjusted.

Give me a few minutes, will let you know and take piccies IF they can
