If you had cal/mag problems using LEDS please list when it started and if you were using organic or chem nutes. Also tell what you did to correct it and if it worked.I'm trying to find out who is having more cal/mag issues, growers using organics or syhthetics. This is for soil grows only.

I use LEDs and grow TLO. I have problems every grow usually at the time the stretch starts. I supplement with Cal/Mag every watering but even that seems to not be enough. I've added dolomite lime to my soil which seems to have stopped the calcium problem (although I do have one lone spot on a fan leaf). As soon as signs of Mag deficiency hit I give them Epsom salt every third watering and it seems to stop. Hope this helps.

Thanks nammy Im also very interested.. My isssue was the same as Alberts but i use 1000 watts HID. right at the 30 swing this issue would start to happen. i still use E salt and molasses every other time but im using botnicare cal+mag and i have no real issue anymore. i do have a very few lower yellows not many but im also 55 day into bloom with 13 inch colas!:coffee2:

I use a mars II 700 with a t5 for side lighting and i had a pretty good calmag issue with my last grow. After being away a couple days i came back to find my plants really dry, probably around day 45? One of the 2 appeared to be showing signs of a cal mag deficiency, so as a stupid rookie i wanted to see if that was the issue so i gave her regular feed without calmag. Bad idea. Fried a bunch of spots on the leaves, including many small leaves that are covered in trichs. Flushed her with just water and calimag at 8ml per gallon and she sprung back but has permanent damage.

Other info: sunshine mix #4, bottled spring water, dutch master gold nutes, vision NL auto

Just adding a little info from my end, I have had awful CalMag problems when growing organic with LED, I had them every grow and they can be so difficult to get rid off, I remember I had a cheese auto that got it from day 1 I kid you not. I have since changed to coco and do not really get them any more, with 2ml/L and it seems to keep it under control most of the time. I also remember Stone telling me that he grows 18/6 not 20/4 or 24/0, I tried this and I didn't notice anything until the flush. Growing photos is the same on 12/12, no CalMag defs again until flush. Im pretty sure it has something to do with how much light they get per day, and what CalMag sup they get, doesn't Epsom salts take a few days to be absorbs as it isn't straight away like hydro, and struggles under the rate of powerful LED? Respiration is it...something like that. Hope this helps.

I grow organic in soil under LED's, but, I've, for some time now, have always added Cal-Mag to every feeding (1-2 tsp), as I "did" have some issues in the past before I started doing that, that led to some issues with potency and minor discoloration.

I am currently using the EarthJuice line (and have been for about 1.5 years), and have more recently switched to their Oily Cann product (Cal-Mg + Humic Acid). So far, great results. Again, I add a little to every feeding, figuring it can't hurt.

I have more recently stopped using Sunleaves Soil Sweetener in my soil mix, which I thought would help stabilize my soil's ph over time and keep a steady source of Cal-Mg present - since it is slow release and I grow Auto's, I figured the life cycle of the plant is just too short for this to really matter, so I've stopped, as I'm simplifying as much as possible. So far, again, so good.
