Lighting Autocobs and Mephisto...by slowandeasy

I want to mention that, peat is NOT a renewable resource, it takes hundreds of years for a pest bog to mature. I suggest to everyone who uses peat, to switch to coco. Its not only renewable, it does not acidify the medium, and becomes a nutrient itself as it breaks down. It hold water better than peat and maintains air as well. I now use it even in my raised beds, mixed 70/30 with perlite.
Been growing in straight Coco for probably 12+ years. The one thing I can say about Coco is that you don't need to use such large pots vs Soil, promix, etc. I use 2gal pots Max, and I get better yields than many people using 5-8 gal pots of other Mediums. Downside is I feed daily or multiple times daily. But 5-8 gal of Coco is a complete waste of Coco IMHO. Plus you better have a lot of space, because the plants with get enormous.

View attachment 743590 Check out this Sour Stomper. Beast! She is about 5ft tall in a 2 gal pots with Airdome. Handwatered. This plant is the tallest Mephisto I have done. I have more Sour Stompers in the same area and another. So far, Sour Stomper has dominated in growth and eats a ton. I am also flushing that Sour Blues. Unplugged the Airdome to flush. I think it might shock the plant if left on and given straight RO water, especially under cobs. @mephisto...Sour Stomper is NOT SOG style growing plant in my garden! Not complaining, I just need a warehouse to run Sour Stomper SOG! Ha

The Sour Stomper smells amazing! Just started one flowering and it is head and shoulders above the other strains when it comes to smell. Not much branching yet, shes shooting straight up :smokeit:

When did you guys SS start stretching?

Okay I'm about a couple days ahead of you! @slowandeasy when did yours start stretching brother?

Mine just stopped stretching within the week. They all stretched for a couple weeks once they started. Warning, train if you lack height. They are all much taller than any other Mephisto strains I have donem

Okay thanks bro! I was just about to ask you that! Have you smoked yet ?

First time growing Sour Stompers, won't be the last. I have never smoked it, but I have been growing for a very long time and when a plant grows with such vigor, looks/smells great at an early age...it is a pretty good sign. I will know that taming the Sour Stompers is a must. Let's go take a pic of the Sour Stomper beast up front.

5ft of Sour Stomper. She is done stretching. Time to pack on the weight. This strain can take the cobs being closer than ALL other Mephisto strains I have tried. It is not right under the Autocob, just to the left of it. But the plant is killing it! Plants directly under it need to be further away, A lot further away for Max Trichomes. The absolute best part of AutoCobs is the fact that I can have a 5ft Sour Stomper and a few 2-3fts next to each other and customize the light height without training your plants. This is important to people who run multiple strains at various life stages. Sour Stomper is 2 ft+ taller than my big Sour Blues bush.

Ok, little update. Big Sour Blues will be hanging up tonight to dry. She looks pretty frosty to me! Been flushing a while now, she is done to my liking. I will share pics later. Also, the Sour Stompers are Bulking up now. I would say 2-3 weeks left. They smell insanely good already. The Toof Decay are about a week ahead, so I plan on feeding another week and the flushing.

Sour Stomper nug...about 3 weeks left. I have never tried or grown Sour Stomper. Mitch suggested it. I can already tell this strain is going to be killer. Very hearty plant, extremely frosty, and smells as good as she looks. She gets large if you let her. Larger than I thought they would. Now I know, I might use smaller pots next time to take the height. Luckily I have space.
