Been growing in straight Coco for probably 12+ years. The one thing I can say about Coco is that you don't need to use such large pots vs Soil, promix, etc. I use 2gal pots Max, and I get better yields than many people using 5-8 gal pots of other Mediums. Downside is I feed daily or multiple times daily. But 5-8 gal of Coco is a complete waste of Coco IMHO. Plus you better have a lot of space, because the plants with get enormous.I want to mention that, peat is NOT a renewable resource, it takes hundreds of years for a pest bog to mature. I suggest to everyone who uses peat, to switch to coco. Its not only renewable, it does not acidify the medium, and becomes a nutrient itself as it breaks down. It hold water better than peat and maintains air as well. I now use it even in my raised beds, mixed 70/30 with perlite.
