Lighting Autocobs and Mephisto...by slowandeasy

Sour Stomper nug...about 3 weeks left. I have never tried or grown Sour Stomper. Mitch suggested it. I can already tell this strain is going to be killer. Very hearty plant, extremely frosty, and smells as good as she looks. She gets large if you let her. Larger than I thought they would. Now I know, I might use smaller pots next time to take the height. Luckily I have space.View attachment 749945

Well I am flushing a few Toof Decay right now. One is turning purple more than the others. The colas are rock hard. A couple are in the little 4x4 jungle with a bunch of Sour Stompers. The others are in the larger area. Nice and frosty, but the Sour Stompers look even better!

How long are they taking to grow out? I wonder if the smaller pot makes that much of a difference. How's the grams per watt in there?
Hey Big, the little 4x4 has 5 Autocobs in it. It is stuffed with a few Toof Decay and a few Sour Stompers. They are all in 2 gal pots. I will have to look at my calendar to see the exact days. But the Toof Decays are about 7-10 days ahead of the Sour Stompers if I remember correctly. I don't know the gpw yet, but it should be decent. It is a rare thing for me to have a whole flower area finish near the same times. I will do my best to keep track of the total harvest for the 4x4, they are all nice and dense. The Sour Stomper buds are longer, super frosty, and dense. The Toof Decay colas are more round, dense, but a decent amount of little crap underneath. My own fault, I had a total hip replacement a few months ago...so bending low is not as easy as it used to be. All 3 Toof Decay in there have lots of little leaves and vegetative growth underneath the canopy that I normally would have lopped off had I could bend over well. I didn't think the Toof Decays would get that big. I also have some in the 1gal pots to see how they do. Smaller pots finish plants faster and flush easier for sure. Some strains are worth trying in smaller pots, some not.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit but I did a hubbabubba in a 1/2 gallon pot and it turned out terrible. It was hard to keep up with the watering. Near the end she completely stopped drinking anything and had very little frost. The buds looked big but shriveled to nothing. Until the harvast I thought it had potential. Sticking with the big boy

Thanks

Yeah Big, I wouldn't try HBSS in that small of a pot. Smaller strains do better. Also I use Coco. Plants don't get the same rootbound effects as bad in Coco vs other mediums. I have my White Cracks in 1/2 pots being fed 6 times a day via pump/drip stakes. Plants in Coco prefer multiple waterings per day, if you feed that way they do very well...if not they won't do nearly as well. The 1/2 gal size restricted the White Cracks size, which I wanted to do to see how SMALL pots do vs larger. I will take a pic tonight. All 3 are short, but very healthy and budding decently now. I am shying away from big plants. I believe that small/medium plants have less waste and are so much easier to trim. I usually use 2 gal pots, but all of my Autos get bigger than I expect so I am messing around to see the ideal pot size for different strains.

That all makes sense. How hard was it to dial in the drip stakes?
Not hard at all Big. I would suggest Halo Rings for you and a bigger pump. I have a few photo flower areas that I use Halo Rings on, I flood them 5x per day. Halo Rings require less on time as they spray fast and get the whole pot evenly watered. The White Cracks are in super small containers, so I used a smaller pump and drip stakes. Really all you need to do is get a flow valve for each plants line to dial them in properly. First plants in line have more pressure, so you turn them down a bit. It only takes a couple days to figure out flood times you prefer. I go for multiple waterings per day with minimal runoff. But pot size, plant stage, environment, medium will all play a role in how you set your flood times up. Just watch the first day each watering and have a watch near you to see how long the pump runs for your desired moisture level. I know you water every other day or so now, that would be crazy easy to do. Not to mention you save time and money, my hand be watered plants drink more water by far. Plants love the consistency.
