Lighting Autocobs and Mephisto...by slowandeasy

Not that anyone cares, but I just had the fastest germination ever. Started 4 more Sour Stompers. I used the toilet paper method and 24hrs later they had tails, planted them in beer cups of Coco, 18hrs later all 4 were above ground with shells off! I predict they will be some fast growing plants! I am very excited to see them grow, I started 4 a few days ago too. But these 4 were more aggressive out the gate

Obviously you have scared the chit out of these beans. If they don't grow they will become bean soup pronto.........

Besides they just want to hurry up so they can bask in the "Light of Cob".

Lol slow. We care! these grows and journals are really making a big impact on the community.
Thanks Big, FWIW I think I know why they did so well. Well first off they all had nice tails within 24 hours. But I believe they sprouted so quickly, as result of using Beer Cups and used a tsp or 2 of Mycotrex, then watered the cups of Coco with my Coco veg food. The cups get warmer and stay moist, not over-soaked. Moisture level in Coco at the seedling stage is critical to how fast and healthy it grows. I have a Sour Hound that was started directly into final pot, the pot is staying too wet and the seedling is smaller than it should be because the roots do not need to seek moisture. The one next to it was not soaked as much on the initial precharge, and the plant is way bigger. Side by side, but they started off way differently because the AutoPot stayed too wet too soon. I am really happy with how my Sour Blues did after transplanting. So I am going back to my old ways. Starting plants in beer cups and transplanting in 10-14 days to final pot. If done right the plants dont skip a beat.

I used to use a germinating tray with a lid and vents for ventilation. A heat mat set to 80 degrees, soaked rapid root plug surrounded in promix and in a beer cup myself. 2 day sprouts every time. I still have 100% germination rate doing it this way and direct to final pot but always used the root plugs that I cut down as small as possible to ease the taproots penetration to the soft soil.

I'm envious of your space and amount of plants you grow man. I'm shutting down shop besides the autocob 4x4 room till I finish the room overhaul. Adding a minisplit, fresh paint, new drying cabinet, better storage ext ext... I have gone through so many lights and different type of setups in here now and after a year + of growing in my dream room I realized it needs adjusting. I was trying to figure the minisplit size I needed for the room and at the beginning of last year I wanted a 24k btu unit, later decided on an 18k and now recently purchased a 12k btu precharged mini. All thanks to the cobs and their lower wattage. I am taking out 2 amares and running dimmable citizen 1812 custom rigs. Dropping wattage and heat load will be a huge savings on my 700$ per month electric bill.
