I'm on my second grow, i'm into week 4 and noticed one of the plants growing little pods all over, this morning I went to check and noticed it's releasing pollen all over itself, I quickly remove the plant and grab my others and rinse those ones down with a spray bottle of water just incase any got on them (not that that would help but just incase). I thought there was something in the genetics to keep autos females or am I wrong? I'm not seeing any seeds but I am noticing it releasing pollen from the sacks, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't lose the other three plants :|

Only if the seeds you bought were feminized will they be all females. Otherwise you will have males. Keep an eye on all of them because you are right at the time when they start to show male and female.

There are some very experienced breeders on this site that can tell you why feminized cannabis seeds sometimes become hermaphrodites (and I'm assuming by week 4 that your plant has produced pistels at the bud sites?).

I've read a little about it - something about F2s and F4s - but most of it is over my head - ha ha!

What I have gleaned is that feminized seeds are often a little unstable (which may be why many of the most experienced growers plant unfemed seeds, and cull the males) - and can become hermaphrodites with or without stress factors (temp, humidity, transplant, nutrient deficiency/toxicity).

The Hobbit I currently have underway also produced pollen sacks - low down on his/her stem that I didn't notice under the fan leaves until after they had opened and dropped their payload.

As she was the only plant I had in flower - I kept on with her, and she produced three seeds (that I can see) on her bud sites.

Anyway - I'm sure someone that knows what their talking about will chime in here - but in summation, from what I've read, feminized seeds are just a little unstable like that.

I believe the Kinks said it best:

"Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola "

Just sucks, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't lose the rest of my plants, I thought about throwing the male outside and just seeing whatever comes from it or even just cutting it down and removing it as far away as possible from my other plants, lol

I planted four auto flower feminized seeds and after a few weeks, one turned male. I caught it before it could release pollen and removed it from the tent.

Can you just remove the male pods?

Can you just remove the male pods?

When I got my male out, I let it grow and it never produced flowers, so I dried the pollen sacs and flower areas and smoked it and only got a headache.
Might as well throw away the plant if it's male, I think.
