New Grower Bad air circulation in small tent, Help needed

i used a bathroom extractor fan on my cab was something like 220cfm? or 260 either one of those, it was mighty powerful and one the job, im guessing the usual fan would be anywhere from 160-220cfm for a bathroom/kitchen extractor, though i could be totally off the mark im just going by what ive seen in hardware stores and personal use.

I had a small cab and used this 90cfm bathroom fan because of the quiet operation, and I know quite a few other people on here have used it as well. But I think in general your average bathroom fan will run between 80 and 200 cfm. There are plenty of them as low as 50 cfm which are used because they're quiet and dirt cheap.

"small clip fan pulling outside air in (bottom left of tent)"

No use having great extraction if you're not pulling enough air in, you know about negative pressure in a tent ?

I'd say get some more air intake going, don't know how many ports in your tent are low down for cool intake ?

Nah thats exactly what i need to learn (negative air pressure etc). only 1 port at the bottom which is where the fan is in the photo. The other is at the top (behind carbon filter in the photo).

Intake < Exhaust or other way round?

I have passive intakes, but i'm in a DIY cabinet so negative pressure is something i don't worry about, as long as there's shitloads of air coming out of the extractor i'm happy. I use a cheap fantronix and it's fine.

If you get a cooltube you will want two intakes, one to blow through the tube and the other to get fresh air into the tent.

In my first cab i had 3 intakes with 12cm PC fans, in my new cab i just cut a hole in the side and this one small hole is enough :

Is this your first grow ?

I have LOADS of PDF books on growing, if you want i can stick a few on the web somewhere and PM you a link ?

I could stick them on mediafire then you know it's secure and i won't know who's downloaded them (coz i could be a policeman !).

I know what it's like at first, we worry over the plants like they are children !

As regards the cooltube :

1. Intake-->Ducting-->Cooltube-->Exhaust

or

2. Filter-->Cooltube-->Extraction

Method two means the air that is cooling down the tube is already at tent temperature, so it's not always ideal.

Method 1 means you have 1 extraction for cooltube and one exhaust for filter.

Anyway best of luck and don't hesitate to ask for advice :)

Yea option 2 sounds cheaper but might just be moving the warm air around but not cooling the tent much. Will have to look into the prices.

For the time being i have an ice cold water in a large bucket outside the bottom port to cool the air, and attached the clip fan to hps. seems to have sorted it for short while but ill get this sorted before they start to give off smell.

The temp went down when i moved the small fan from bottom making me think that was more than the scrubber which could of caused some the problems :-\

Ye it's the eternal problem of the indoor grower, temperature.

Not so bad in the winter but come summer, phew ! Once the ambient temperature is 25c then all you can do is hope it doesn't get above 30 in the box/tent.

Good luck with it mate,

steely.

Cheers for the help buddy, hopefully will be able to post some good looking medicine soon.

Stay chemical free!

Much appreciated,

peez
