Hey everybody! Quite a site you've got goin on. Alot to read, and digest.

I grew indoors for several yrs in OR, all photos, had to move back to Kaliforika to help family, and haven grown for several years now. Since its now leagal in the state, I started a couple seeds in Feb, photos, 1 male, cut and gone a month or more ago the other female. Both bag seeds, but from fire. She's been topped, topped again, and now moved from the 5 gal into the ground... looks like she'll be a monster...@ least compared to my indoor stuff.
Now on to my question...am planning to go back to indoor in the fall, but have 00 fem. Nother Lights autos on the way. Am tempted, if they show up in the next week or two to get a couple in the ground, I have room, but am wondering if I should hold them off till I get the tent set up? I live in the northern bay area, and they'd get great sun, but all after the S solstice.

Also torn as to the indoor setup, soil or DWC?

Need some input from the doers out there, I may just be suffering from the excitement of getting back to the grow.

& I read the rules! Arthur is that beautiful boy on my avitar.

Thanks in advance

Great sun go for it for sure!! One of my 2 location gets shaded by large trees and i only get partial sun of 8 hours dropping down to less than 5 by harvest...yanked 2 autos so far with 100gram or better pulls.

Thanks GreenSkell! I kinda figured I'd do ok, but that nagging little voice kept saying check your emotions dummy, you'll run outa time.
These will be my first go with autos, they were just being introduced when I had to push the er "hobby" aside. Stunned @ the advancements in both the botony and light tech. Looking forward to getting up to speed on both.
This is the girl in the back, she's short (for now) but right @ 3' across the corners nothing special, but got my feet wet again. Given the wind around here, I'll probably SCROG her to keep things in place as well as getting the light in.

The grow, therapeutic, enjoying the harvest, nirvana

Hey @Arthur and welcome to AFN may man... mmmmmmm... soil, dwc, soil, dwc, soil ,dwc ... mmmmmmm... which to choose... my thoughts, soil to ease back into the indoor grow or ride it by the seat of your pants at full pelt and go for dwc smashing it out of the park.

saved ya some of this dude

Welcome to AFN, Arthur! I, like you, was nice a lurker. This place really is a hub of information regarding autoflowers and what you can do with them depending on your own growing style preferences.

I can't really give you any advice. I've never grown before. Well, I have...fruits and vegetables...but not cannabis. With that being said, what I know is that autoflowers will typically finish in about two and a half months. So you'd be finishing up in about September. That sounds fine to me, but like I said I am not speaking from experience.

I think your right on the first one, Slater, while I did alot of DWC, the sain approach is to KISS change as few things as possible, then adjust. Already alot of variables are different for me. Climate here, growing in a tent as opposed to a full room, led from hps/mh, auto from photo. I think I'll set it up as simple as I can, run it, and make adjustments as I get the re-education. Also caring for elderly parents can eat up alot of time, I can't just hang in my grow monitoring a flood table like I used to...

Hey and Welcome!
I would say soil, but I am a soil grower. If you have experience with DWC then that may be the route to go. If you haven't grown for a while I would stick with the KISS you mentioned!!
Peace and happy growing.

Your plant looks good! I'd be biased telling you to do soil because that's all I've ever used lol I say whatever you feel is right for you! Welcome to the AFN family!

Thanks Starbreaker, given my location, and the date, we won't drop to the 13 hr mark till the 1st of Sept, figuring I'll star seeing preflowers sometime mid august shes 3 months old now, and been stressed from the topping etc several times. Now she's on her own, with appropriate lst. I think I'll have my hands full keeping her low and out of site
.
The stoner that sits on my left shoulder kept saying "get it planted!" The much more quiet voice on my right shoulder kept sayin "hold off another month, your not looking for a tree! " Guess which voice won?
