Mephisto Genetics Behind the Curtain: gbd's undocumented Mephistos

Toof Decay, a bit wind worn from sitting directly in front of a fan, but caked in crystals still.

How tall do your plants get on average? I see a lot of people trying to get them to stretch, is that even worth it? I figured short and bushy was they way to go, yours look short and bushy.
I am also very curious I like to grow bushes also .

On average ny plants get 20-30 inches. These are all about 12-18 inches tall and would do magnificent in a secret outdoor garden. They could be easily hidden and overgrown by other grasses and shrubs.

I think the main reason these stayed so short and bushy was due to poor upkeep. I let the plants get too dry which seemed to halt their vertical growth. I also believe they bush out so well because of the strength of light used. More light intensity down low gives them no need to stretch, so my theory is that they start to branch really prolifically at that point. Just what I've observed, it could be 100% inaccurate.

Here's a group shot from a few weeks ago that really shows their height compared to their buckets.

I agree the lighting has a lot to due the factor of stretching and why a plant would branch out ,plants that get low light grow spindly and tall weak stems and branching is weak with a lack of leaves the lighting an lumens isn't enough for the proper photosynthesis.I am a very new grower so not exactly sure is a bush more desirable and yields more or a taller plant more desirable in the all around factors.

I would have preferred these to reach their full potential, as the yields have definitely been diminished by the lack of watering. Really each individual plant structure will also have a lot to do with genetics as well. The last Supernatural OG that I grew had half the number of branches that my current one has. The previous was grown in 5 gallons and pampered from the start, where the current has been slightly neglected and grown in 3 gallons. The previous also had more light, yet because the current one is a different phenotype it's got hella branches and is easily the busiest/branches Mephisto that I've grown. I haven't featured her much because she is slightly under developed from a lack of light, but I'll snap a couple pictures of her in the coming days .

Indeed Intense of Light and also Specs of Lights used have a great value on how your Plant will Stretch. Going from Hps to Led lets you feel that diffrence the most. Hps they want to reach the Lights due to the lack of certain Specs in the Light the Plant is in need and sucking for.

Genetics will have a role too a nice Sativa will surely have a better Stretch than a true Indica that stays Squad and Broad. I noticed the same at the Supernatural Og Bro the Kush Pheno comes up with less Branches and Stretch but absolute Denser Buds, whislt the Fatasmo Dom branched out and had almost double the Stretch.

At all i noticed over the Years the Squad Bushes have so much More Energy for Budding and Resin Production, maybee this comes that the Plant dont has to transport the Nutes thru long internode spacings.

For my personal View i like my Plants Short ad Bushy to produce Rockhard Nuggs.
