Lighting Best LED under $600

The Draw on this one is 289 watts ..I hate that they all have a number in the name like thats the watts but its just a name lol not to say its a bad led just something to look for when you hunt leds.Plus lights that are just one solid pannel I think if one led goes out the hole thing is done so warenty is key too and company reliability.
I agree on the specification joke that they put us through. One of the reasons I got that pair is that, compared to other panels in the same "alleged" wattage, these ones' real wattage was higher than any of the other comp priced units.
I can say this about these 450s- they cover 3.5x3.5 in flower, and the plant(s) love their spectrum. I'm impressed enough to buy another pair and make my 4x8 tent a supernova lololol
No mistake, I would love a pair of the GN HS1s, but that will be next years guilty pleasure :)

Watt for watt you will struggle to match the new HS1 from Grownorthern.com,I'm using 2 at a total of 150w in a 1.2m2 room. Here's my grow https://www.autoflower.org/f109/testing-gns-new-light-new-dp-autos-39074.html the only problem is it's 220-240v only.

Hey TaNg,

That's crazy that that HS1 is only pulling 75W but competing with 600 HID's. I'll be sure to follow your grow and see the results. I'm wondering how the penetration is on that light? It really isn't that much more expensive than the 900W mars II.

From all of the hunting and reading i've done so far I think the best LED i've seen so far is the spectrum king light. Though it's a tad pricey at $1,200. Have you looked into this light?

A side note. Someone here had mentioned the new Sun series LED from Mars. It looks like they are moving to a full spectrum LED. Better PAR and all. So i've got some hope for that as well.

Thanks for all of the feedback so far guys. Keep it coming!

I did see the reflector series but was a lil thrown off to see them using 3W LED's. Which was why I opted for the Mars II.

Although now more than anything I'd just like an LED that used full spectrum (white) LEDs.

I believe I read somewhere that they ( Mars ) run their LEDs at half power for efficiency and a longer lasting light. I was totally thrown off by that as well though.

The HS1 is the same price as the Mars 1600W.

From the Dutch Passion site:

"The LED grow light has a 75W power consumption and has a similar performance to a 250W HPS."

Its 2 that will match the 600w HPS bro.

There are definatly cheaper lights out there that will do the same job as a HS1 but they will use a lot more energy so you need to make the decision to spend a bit more now and save money on energy bills in the long run or save a few penny now and pay more ove time.

I was wanting to cover 8 foot by 8 foot so I'd like at some point having 4 900s. but its winter and my hids are keeping my room at the right temp.

A pair of 900's would be plenty. The 900 watt generic light I just bought will cover a 5'x5' easily. Only been in use a few days, but it stimulated my Durrty Cheese into a new stretch! 4" in the last 4 days. And man, are the buds building! Yep, its a cheap light, but the performance sure seems to be right on!

I'll probably spend more now and get the nicer product. Whatever I buy should last me at LEAST another 3-5 years. By that time there will be new tech and price drops on current LED's. Thanks TaNg

Growlights are like computers. you can spend cubic money for the latest tech, or you can get what you need done with the middle of the road and even with low cost generic equipment. My light may be generic, as are my two- 300 watt Mars Hydro units. but the warranty is good, and the 300 watt units have run 16/8 then 12/12 since the beginning of May without any issues. 5 years ago, I wouldn't have touched one of these lights, now they are becoming mainstream. Don't get me wrong, the GN units are obviously quality pieces, but, IMO the price is excessive for the job its designed to do. But that's ok, people who adopt early or cutting edge technology keep the mainstream market advancing for the rest of us. Me, I just want to grow my meds and thank people like Tang for adopting such tech as it advances the capabilities in lighting for all of us!

I´d say that the HS1´s are the Rolls Royce of home stealth growing. A bit pricey but draws like two lightbulbs. A long term investment no doubt.
