Right now I'm thinking about getting the Mars TS 3000 Indoor Full Spectrum Led Grow Light(450W), will it perform better or equal to a 600W HPS lamp?
I could also get the Mars II 1600 Full Spectrum Grow Led Light which is supposed to draw 600W of power which is 150W more than the TS 3000.
Now I really have no clue about LED equipment but it's kinda confusing that the 450W light (MARS TS 3000) is supposed to have an average yield of 1.5g/W and the Mars II 1600 with 600W "only" 1g/W.
Would be nice if someone could help me out here.

What exactly are you looking for in your LED setup? What's your budget?

Hang on, you just said you don't have the budget for new lights and are asking advise on CMH or HPS in an 8x4.

"Hey,
so I decided to go for a pretty big growing tent (4 feet by 8 feet / 240cm x 120cm) and now I'm wondering about what the Autopot setup should look like.
I know I will go for regular 600 watt lightning (no led) since I don't have the money for it, I will put 2 600 watt on each side since it's basically two 4x4 tents that are connected."

So what's the plan?

I'm still contemplating if I should go LED / HPS or CMH.
Yeah it's an 8x4 but I want one for each 4x4 space so it makes no difference and I'm contemplating only using half of the tent first and expand if necessary.
My maximum budget for a 4x4 space is max 500$.
I posted this here because Mars Hydro seems to be the cheapest solution for LED, I was looking at LED's triple that price hence I initially thought I couldn't afford anything oder than HPS.

Check them out.

Just for reference when looking at hps and led.

A good run with HPS will yield somewhere around .6 to .8 gpw. If using a good double ended unit that might stretch to 1 maybe.
A quality LED light can be capable of 1.5 to 2 gpw.
I've grown under both, hps works great, but is much more costly, not only in the power for the light, but in having to cool the area the lights in.
Hps needs more watts over the same space, as much more is given off in heat than light.

With LED, my A/C runs for the house temp,
With HPS, I had a dedicated AC unit for the room.

I cover a 4x4 with 450w of diy led. To hit the same yeilds with HPS I need to be running 900w.

Hey Arthur do you use cobs and if so whats your setup like? I been looking to diy but not sure what size heat sink. Looking to run maybe 200w

Id recommend an SP250 (250w) or TSL2000 (300w) or even easier if in the US, get 2 autocobs for 300w. Be sure to check the coverage space as they come in different shapes and sizes. I use the Mars SP and TS series and they work great. 2 x SP250s in a 4x4 tent would be perfect with little to no extra heat. TSL2000 gives off more heat for sure. I would prefer autocobs if i had the choice, but im not in the US and dont fancy shipping that to my location.

I grow in a tropical environment, and even indoors face a never ending battles, so LEDs are no brainer for me.

EDIT: SORRY I MISREAD. I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WERE LOOKING TO "NOT DIY"!
