Best setup for a 4x4 space

I'm still contemplating if I should go LED / HPS or CMH.
Yeah it's an 8x4 but I want one for each 4x4 space so it makes no difference and I'm contemplating only using half of the tent first and expand if necessary.
My maximum budget for a 4x4 space is max 500$.
I posted this here because Mars Hydro seems to be the cheapest solution for LED, I was looking at LED's triple that price hence I initially thought I couldn't afford anything oder than HPS.

I got a SP250 and a TSL2000 in same tent atm. Works great. Seedlings loving it. Cannot comment on floweirng but i check many other grow results with same lights. From what i have seen if you get under 1g per watt with their new lights, then u could prob improve a fair amount. As Arthur said. 1.5-2g per watt is possible.

id go for 4 x Sp250s in a 8x4. you will hardly get any heat off them at all with drivers outside the tent. The TSL 2000 is bit hotter but prob in your climate will be no issue at all. alternatively might be bit cheaper to just get 2 x TS3000s, but i cannot comment on their heat levels.

Does the sp250 have a actual power of 200w?

Hey Arthur do you use cobs and if so whats your setup like? I been looking to diy but not sure what size heat sink. Looking to run maybe 200w

Heat sink size depends on the individual cob heat requirements at the wattage you plan to run. For me, the 120mm units were fine.

You could look at timber, they have kits available at a pretty reasonable $.

I'm running 450w of 3500k. DIY, 9 citizen CLU048 1212.
2 systems, 1 is a 200w unit I built first, and ran in a portion of the tent. Then I added a 250w set, and you can see, I ringed the original 4. When I have seedlings, I turn the 250 off and dial down the 200. As they grow I turn on the 250 dialed down, and then bring them all up together.

I'm a little overpowered for autos ( light burn is a norm for me, see pic) but the whole deck would be what I consider marketable. photos are doable, but I feel I'm about 200w underpowered to max 16 sqft. for photos. Maybe 3x3 would make market.
