O man every one will have a different opinion on this. As of now I am I big fan of Roots organic with steer manure and lime added tell I transplant. I like layered soil so when I transplant I have 2 layers, my base soil I use for veg and my flowering mix in the bottom half of the pot in a #15 nursery pot as of now. My thought is if I have a veg and bloom layer and am only adding water the whole grow there is less shock to the plants as the soil PPM is not swinging so much. Also the large pots have enough soil that I can run a mild amount of additives with out running out of nutrients. I don't have to flush out my pots to flush the veg nutrients out between the veg and bloom faze either. Still working on my top and bottom mix and making changes but this is a simple way of growing and has helped me eliminate making so many mistakes with over feeding or under feeding.

My thoughts are they dont need to much N due to the super quick veg period..

thee best recipe you'll use for autos fo9r simplification is from tlosoils.com and there is no minimum anymore, is hands down a 14.99 USD pack of stuff.. 5 US gallons(NOT trade gallons either..use paint bucket) of coco coir ,a quality soil like Dr earth or similar.most any decent organic soil mix is fine. and 5 of EWC and 4 gallons of perlite.maybe 3.add 3 first and check the soil with a good hard squeeze test. cook for 45 days after mixing minimum and you get about 24-26 gallons depending on how you mix it but thats a rough size of what to add for Autos and it'll work beautifully too.use decent water too. maybe a small puch extra of sweet lime n voila.sweetleaf done right! and cheap especially if you have the simple mixtures suck as EWC n perlite but for about 100 MAYBE youll have one of the best grows around.and some damn fine smoke to pass around to your buddies too lol

I have had a few that were nitrogen pigs. My current grow I have one that likes high amounts of N. I have found that if they like to grow like a bush that usually they like more nitrogen compared to ones that grow strait up with little branching. My current grow shows this pretty well.
