I was out this morning had to do somethings, didnt want to but it was the type of stuff you gotta do. any way i told my wife to water my plants for me. shes been watching me and is a fast learner so i didnt mind her doing so. I told here make sure the ph is 6.5, 6 at the very lowest since i have high PH problems right now(7.1-7.2). Well i get home and she say everything went well, she couldnt believe how dry the got between yesterday and today. but here where it gets bad i ask her wat did the PH come out to be she says "i think 5.2 maybe 5.3"(she must have misunderstood me, we where smoking when i ask her) i quickly ran upstairs and gave them some filter water at 6.5 hoping to dilute the water she just gave them. ARE MY PLANTS GONNA DIE? is my big question and did i help the situation or make it worse adding more water?

How old are your plants and did you check the run-off ( if there was any) when you added more water ??

yea run of was about 6.8 and they are coming up on 4 weeks on tuesday

I don't think they'll die :)

Do you have a picture?
I would have checked the run off after you watered at 6.5 - you can do it next watering.

Here's a calculation i like to post (you probably already know this, but just in case .. ^_^)

PH Calculation Guide by GoAuto6

Rough Calculation Guide:

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

Hope things work out okay for the girls!
:High 5:

I very much doubt they`ll kark it IDS! I`d test the run-off again(from 2nd watering) and let`em dry out! They may have been thrown out of whack, but you can correct that(over the next couple of waterings.) I`ll let someone else advise you further(cos I`m `Muellered` and gotta go out soon! Try not t`stress ya`self too much...If it`s a one off should be ok mate(just keep an eye on your ph, after your next water! :smokebuds:

so would it be safe to say my soil is setlling around 6.3-6.4

yea run of was about 6.8 and they are coming up on 4 weeks on tuesday
Cool! So 6.5 in, 6.8 out

6.8 +(+ becuase the run off is higher than the input water) the difference (0.3) = soil ph of 7.1

Keeping going in low - IMO, i think soil PH needs to be somewhere in the range of 6.3-6.5 so there's quite a little way to go!

:face: IMO, I do NOT think your plants will die. In actuality, this hiccup might help you with the too high Ph. Old trick is when the run off Ph or the soil Ph is high...(6.7 or higher) is to mix the next feed or two at a slightly lower Ph, ie: if your feed mix usually goes in @ 6.4, mix the next couple feeds @ say 6.1, 6.2...and don't worry about the run off, test your soil. (run off doesn't "feed" your plant, your soil [or other medium] does). Once your soil is back to a healthy, stable Ph, carry on!!!! Big question...do you have Ph testers for BOTH your water / feeding AND soil?:checkph: & :soil:
Let 'em dry out, test your soil Ph and go from there. Farming karma headed your way. Puff, puff, pass

Checked my run off again beacuse they where still dripping extra water and 2 was at 6.1 and the other 6.0 uploading pics now! MUST HAVE been 6.8 because it had not settled yet.
