Lighting Big sm0's - helpful DIY cob grow light build.

So I think I finally have the basic layout done. 6 6500k cobs, 4 samsung hard strips and 3 meanwell drivers. The cobs will be driven at 1050ma which should be close to 35w each. The hard strips are powered at 750ma and only around 20w each. 6 cobs for 1 driver and 2 strips per driver. The strips are 5000k and will only be used to get the seedlings going and once they are large enough then I'll flip the cobs. More I stare at it the more I feel 2 more cobs would it in better. The left side has the strips mounted to the bars

Sorry for the delays guys. My grow was rocking and my DIY was as well. I was all excited to get this going till the little problem I had.

I've been thinking of making the switch to COBs. I have some MARs LEDs and currently using a HPS but the power is killing me!! How much coverage do you think those 6 would cover? Also i got a bunch of that 80/20 aluminum that my work was throwing away. Another reason to make the switch!!

Epistar leds produce 20-25% photons and 75-80% heat. The spectrum is also poor in comparison. Cobs depending on how their drive can hit 65% photons and 35% heat. These are facts, unlike the blurple led claims you read. 1-2gpw is possible and fairly simple with cob tech. Cheaper LEDs are on the much lower side. Your best bet is to start off small and see the difference first hand. Mars and cheaper lights do grow but you definitely don't get out what you put in.
