The only thing that scares me about co is the ppp or do you guys use the ppk being in Co. Lol. Imagine what 3 noble knights could do with autos. With EM we would have 4. Might be enough to put a few local disp. out of business.

I have just reread the entire thread again and believe it or not actually learned a few things. I recommend others do the same on their own threads. It has also motivated me to donate more time to my grow. The drop in yields were from lack of time more than anything


Another thing is I think I may be looking into a larger space as well. I can't run it solo but do need to get into a 20x20 minimum and pull some real numbers. Probably one of the few larger scale auto grows too. Building lights and caring for the plants full time is a dream. Hopefully it will come true soon.

One thing I'm worried about more then anything though is power needed for a grow that size. I'm sure running cobs would help but would still need a serious amount.

I'd say go for it but you would definitely need to be smart about it. You could run large plants and figure a 3x3 for each. 100 watts of cobs over each plant so that alone is only around 1000 watts. My biggest plants are grown under 100 watts. Any more and they get all sorts of deficiencies even with increasing nutrients. With good genetics that's between 4-5 lbs. Plenty of room to veg the babies too and that's only 1/2 the garage. Cooling should be manageable with a window Ac or mini split if you have the funds for it. A dehumidifier for lights out.

Get your first few grows down. This will help you decide on what actually works best for you.

Yeah sounds doable, but your right baby steps to start lol. I already have a decent portable AC unit in the shed since I use it as an indoor golf range in the summer lol. So wouldn't look suspicious on that side of things, I'm thinking I'd need some soundproofing though for the sound with it being a shed it's nowhere near as quite as being inside. But yeah definitely doable, especially with cobs and quantum boards etc these days makes it seem way more achievable for an 'end goal'

If sound is an issue you could easily solve it. Roxul insulation is inorganic which is ideal for grow rooms and it has a higher rating for sound. What I like about it is it's very ridgid and no nasty fiberglass. Some double drywall the space but that's foolish. If you needed to you should add furing strips over the top of the first layer before adding a second. An air gap naturally which is key. They also have a quiet rock which has metal inside it but it's ridiculously expensive and doesn't work as well as the strips and second layer.

The inline fans on your air scrubbers range in cost as well as performance. A cheap and inconspicuous way to hide the exhaust and noise is to get some cheap 6" wood stove pipe and run it up the side of the building. Ducting into this helps with residual smell and noise. If the shed is elevated dumping it into the ground below the floor works. Even better if the space isn't elevated you could cut a hole in the floor for ducting and trench under the floor like a ground hog would.

When I built mine i insulated the floor with 2" ridgid foam and a second layer of 3/4 plywood Then tiled it. I now run everything in flood tables with drains to the outdoors. The smaller autocob room in the back has a pitched floor with rubber roofing on it with a drain. This all makes the job so much easier. Tons of cobs and a small mini split for cooling. There are some pictures in the beginning of the thread about the room. It's a lot of fun when it's done right. If you need any help with ideas hit me up.

Long time no see. Haha Dude what's with those little 2 or 3w diodes around the cobs? I'm really liking that idea. How much extra intensity do they add to the overall combination of lighthing?

These are Samsung leds. This light was originally intended for germinating and vegging. The strips are only 12.5 watts X 4. They are 5000k and not very intense so I planned to use these in the beginning on seedlings before flipping the cobs on. So many people ask me about mixing cob temperatures. I usually disagree as the coverage and colors don't blend well. The strips allow this to happen much easier as they run the full length.

Some room updates. The main spot is blowing up quick.

Waiting for a few parts and pieces from sustainable village and I'm ready to automate the AutoCob room. Air stone, cheap Home Depot tote and a few blumat carrots.

Sour livers and northern cheese haze in here this time. Can't resist the fire it brought me last time I grew it. Was nice filling 5 gallon pots instead of the usual 7's. Not sure why I waited this long to try it out.

Thanks man! It's actually bitter sweet. So much time and effort went in here. Money .... shit. I would do it again but surely wouldn't want to. Now I'm looking for a good strain. Something I can grow steadily that will pull decent numbers but real fire more importantly.

Any suggestions??
