Biochar

The biochar was nothing like I expected in the bag. I was in a hurry to mix it up to soak but will post a pic tomorrow . Mixing up a pot for a contest grow .

Question about azomite. I need to order a brick of coco and was thinking about getting this as my last purchase for a while. I need to learn to use what I have now before trying more. Is this a really good addition? It's got lots of trace minerals which are necessary.

What's your question regarding azomite exactly? You can use it but you may not need to buy it if you are using kelp and other rock dusts. Azomite is fine, nothing wrong with it but it's not any better/worse than other rock dust sources, with basalt still being my favorite. Azomite just has the best marketing program. :)

And coco is okay but I'm a much bigger fan of using peat in most instances. These are my thoughts on why:

You're gonna love the addition of Biochar, it's awesome. Just stay between 5-8% of your total media and it should work great. Here's a side by side comparison a grower sent me a few years back. The only difference is 8% biochar that was soaked in fish hydrolysate on half the plants.

That's an amazing photo! I don't have any type of rock dusts but reading a ton about trace minerals helping. Basalt, ok if you give it a thumbs up it's good with me. Thank you for your time and input.

I used coco to cut the peat a bit, I'm using roots 707 as my base. Just getting my fingers dirty learning how to make a healthy living soil.

I did order the basalt, thanks KIS. I have to post a pic of a pot I just made up and dropped a seed in. I had a like bit of malted barley bits left over in a bowl so I sprinkled 6 or 8 not fully ground seeds on top and a tiny bit of dust. I thought this was cool

Beyond Cool . I love seeing that . Healthy soil .
Thank you, me too! It gives me confidence that I'm going in the right direction. Funny thing about this, I grow at my friends house, he is 80. He calls me early, all serious , we have a problem. There is mold all over the new container we just potted up! Oh my, I was scared something horrible had happened
:crying:

Oh I freaked out! My buddy loves to smoke and hates it when the leaf start fading before harvest so I never know. He lost power one time and didn't call me. The girls sat in a DARK tent for 2 days, all while there were clear blue skies outside. He scares the shit outta me when he makes call a like that :yoinks:
