Lighting BlackStar The Manual

I am happy with my last Photo grow using my 240w blackstar in coordination with my 150w hps (in the last 3 weeks of flowering). I had 2 plants going, each yielded 2.5 ounces each. My problem with my Blackstar LED is that one of the center 2 LED's basically burned out and melted down. The rest of the light RAN fine and still RUNS fine minus 1 center UV LED. I ordered off amazon, not sure if i can warrantee it. LED should have WAY more run time than 3 months before burning out.

That UV light is working, the burn around it is from the UV. Remember, you can't see UV with the naked eye.

When i say it burned out i meant it burned out! Black and toasty around just that 1 center LED lens. Melted plastic shit. Left a milky film on the inside of the glass of my light that i had to take apart and clean off. IT BURNED OUT. I am used to electronics, it had to have shorted from the factory, a LED wouldnt just burn out for no reason. A buddy is finishing out his grow with it as a supplement or id post a pic. That 1 LED is fried!

treefarmer i to got a 240w through amazon and the same exact thing happened to mine i got it replaced just contact what ever place it was bought from through amazon and email them they should fix it as long as its less than a year after purchase

Loud and clear :D

I'm just used to auto responding when people complain about that light "not working"

They honor their warranty, ring em up!

is the general support for black star led? Cheap brand with good results ? NO competition in price range?

Piggy, THAT light isn't working on mine, I cannot see my UV on!? I kid, though still going to test out your breaking point:D

Pretty sure with your hand under the leds the UV is immiting the most heated light, then red then blue.

Badluck with that led full melting and making a mess inside that diode encasing, I will need to do that soon also as there's afew Gnats laying dead in there:smokebuds:Hope all goes well, as 3months definetly doesn't sound like the 50,000hrs life

Blackstar is was the top of the line series coming from Lighthouse LEDs, now they have the Crome series which has still been mixed results.
