Some do. I guess it depends on why you are using it, and what else you're using it with. Some use it as a potassium boost, some use it to feed microbe life, others use it more for the sugars and carbs.. It has many uses.
I start my 1tbs per gallon a few weeks into flower about when its done stretching.
Every water from then on . the last 2 waters is just molasses no ferts.
But thats just me
The ol boy that got me using It only uses it the last 3 or so waters with nothing else
Most liquid fertilizers already have molasses inside.
I personally prefer to use honey to provide carbohydrates. 20ml (or even up to 60ml if the plants are hungry) honey for my 12 litre water bucket is more than adequate.
But too many carbohydrates mean lower potency so you have to find a balance in the dose. Less food=higher potency.
