Lighting Blue AutoMazar - DWC Round 2 by Pal

Hi.... your maths is terrible... 1.2m square gives approximately 15.5 square foot.... The recommendations for HPS are 40w + per square foot... generally...

For the GN006 disco lights having spoken to Daniel at GrowNorthern he recommended 3 to 4 units for a 2.4 x 1.2 metre tent.... So you are bang on the money as the riff-raff say....

I did warn you about the maths, thanks for the info..

Afternoon AFN, hope you're all keeping well. Today is day 36 for BAM so she had a res change consisting of:

10ml CalMag
4ml Silicon
7.5ml rhizotonic
15ml Boost
30ml Flores A+B
EC 0.9 (1.3 on my meter)
PH 5.7-5.8

I've started off with 1/4 strength boost as advised by DWCocha and will build it up to full strength (60ml) for PK week. I'm sure you noticed in the list but she has been switched to flowering nutes now, and I just did a straight swap to keep things simple. I really don't want to force this girl too much so I've only upped the EC by .1 - for now.
The roots are still playing on my mind, I find they're very weak when/if I touch them, I can pull them away with little to no encouragement - the only difference to my last grow is that I'm not using CannaZym, could this be behind the weak roots? I'm sure Zym is supposed to munch away the dying roots but I had a few problems with it in my first grow so just left it out this time around..thoughts on this would be great.
Anyways, enjoy the photos :peace:

Sneaky dragon babies making a guest appearance! :peace:

Your Babe is looking really nice by the way..... When are you going to Christen her / have a naming ceremony?

May the King suggest Bambushka?....

Bambushka seems most appropriate :Sharing One:

It has happened before on my first plant but not this one since I have more than enough space to move her this time for res changes. I'm convinced it's to do with the water being pushed too hard causing them to snap off when they're thin, using less pressure/bubbles solves the problem but I want more oxygen in there not less

Nice one!:d5:, however in my case it couldn't be true as the roots where 2cm long :p. But it can be in Pal23 situation.

Nah you're right buddy they were snapping before I could possibly hit them on the buckets for res changes. As I said above i'm sure it's the diffusers not providing tiny enough bubbles for my res so it's just pushing the water around too fast, ideally the water in the res will be perfectly still but full of bubbles?

Thanks for everybody's thoughts, I love a good chit chat ;) :Sharing One:

Hello Mr Pal23.....

Roots snapping off is part and parcel of DWC.... I always have fine broken roots in the reservoir at change time.... and through the week by extrapolation...

We both use the same Hailea 150mm flat diffusers I believe they are great........ Do you have the diffusers correct face upwards by the way? If they are the wrong way round they do seem to produce bigger bubbles....

You're doing great, lady bambushka is doing very very great.... relaaaaaaax and enjoy the grow..... believe in your abilities..... YOU ARE NAILING IT...........

Good evening, nice to know I'm not the only one - I'm a classic worrier ;)
The flat disc air stone I have is 200mm and I do prefer it to my other diffuser, it's a 230mm Cylinder shaped diffuser by Angel Aqua. It's completely flat on the bottom of the bucket but says capable of pushing 20lpm on the back, so using it alone with my 30lpm pump causing a lot of water movement, it's the same deal with my other one so I'm guessing they're both around the 20lpm mark. When I can afford it I will upgrade to some super micro pore stones, probably boss hog, if nothing else just to give me peace of mind
As you say she looks happy on top so I shouldn't be tooooo scared, thanks for the kind words :Sharing One:

Got some more pictures for you guys, she still looks good and healthy to me! I've had a little move around in the tent and the lights are now higher up - this will probably cause a bit of un needed stretch but at this stage I don't mind because it's allowing better light to my dragon babies as well. Just estimating I would say she is as wide as my first BAM and isn't quite done expanding yet so this girl could end pretty large..
