holy crap that a big airstone!! Pal, I stumbled onto something very cool. When I hooked up a second pump to fight root rot/slime, I (obviously) put another stone into each bucket. Is use one exactly like yours, but 8" wide. How big is that btw? Is the cylinder one a Boss Hog?
I set it so each stone was opposite to each other in the bucket. The resulting water flux vortex created (not seen, just bubbles flowing from the rims to the center) makes the roots stay dead center the bucket, and they kind of roll and entangle into themselves, creating a ball and not going so deep into the bucket. This is heaven for RDWC, but I also see it as a cool root training practice in regular DWC
Thats;
1x Charles Austen ET30 (30L/m) = 7,5L per stone
1x Haiulea 9820 (60L/m) = 15L per stone
= 22,5L per 20L bucket.
This is the result of a few weeks of the two stone thing.
I also notice you have an airpot with a DWC lid on in... what is up with that !?

That new airstone is 200mm, the cylinder diffuser is made by angel aqua - the alternative to boss hog in the uk. it's 230mm I believe..

That's really cool man, since this is my second dwc I've not experimented all that much but I can see the advantages of this already just from the pic..nice.
