New Grower Bombing first hydro grow, should I start newwith soil? Auto Green Poison and 60 Day Wonder

Still hovering at 77ish, or 24.3c Got the aircon blowing on them. it got hot yesterday here in geelong so it got up to about 80 but make sure to drop the temp on the aircon to get it back down to 77 24.3c.

I broke down and put some chicken s#it manure around the top of the sad AGP that has been working wonders for my wifes vietnamese herb garden. brought back some mangy old vietnamese herbs back to really nice green growth again. Also brought back some snail chewed up bok choy back to health in just a few days.

I'm going down to bunnings warehouse this weekend to get stuff for a soil grow and pop another AGP in soil this time. I'm going to really try and hold back on watering these hydros for 3-5 days, I'm expecting a humidifer early next week so I hope I can get the RH up into the 60-70% range.

I'm also going to move rooms...move our bedroom to the master bedroom (grow room right now) and move the grow room to the back guest room where it's more discrete and stealthy. I'm going to setup the grow tent as well and set it up good and proper this time then I;m going to keep pressing on with the 2 hydros and start a new soil grow with AGP

Hey now, not looking too too bad. Once you dial it in they should start growing, I know mine did. Check out my poor cat chewed baby at 10 days!!

Pretty sad isn't she. Well she looks pretty good now, small but well formed and growing nicely, starting to smell a bit too.
Here she is at 33 days

Checked out your journal, actually read the first post a few days ago and LOL'd at the cat attack! I gotta be like you now and lay off the water but mine are in coco so they will be needing some nutes soon but I don't know when or how much or when to start this autopot. I think I'll let it dry out completely, almost and then kick in the autopot res with nutes.

Everyone is saying wait until week 3 to start the autopot but what do I feed it until then? Won't it run out of nutes in the coco? I just have to keep myself from watering!

I found Nam80232's Rock VS Fox Farms. I decided to follow his example and use the Rock line of Nutrients. I started with the Supercharger for roots and use it every watering. I believe that, that is a big reason for the new growth, then I started Fusion Bloom last week on the older CC and BK and will start the 11 day old BDM on Sunday. They are taking it well so far. I am documenting the heck out of everything (as you can see from my journal :D:) I am using their recommended pH and a TDS meter for accurate dosage.
I bought their "Rock Box" starter kit. I have to say i like what I am seeing, I have nothing to compare it to, but still!

Coco needs nutes around day 10. Water every day now, dry coco is a cardinal sin as it will encourage ppm to spike as the solution "concentrates" in response to drying. I would use 1/8 strength notes until you have 3 nodes of true leaves, then bump up to full strength progressively over two weeks. DO NOT ADD MANURE unless you intend to scrap this and start over, it will 99% certain kill your seedlings. Remember that coco = hydro, dry roots = "empty rez". Every time you water, it replaces the old solution and recharges the root zone with O2. I would hand water JUST to the point you see runoff,in fact if it were my grow I'd just run the autopot system now @ 1/8 strength rez...

Did as you said Low n Slow, I turned on the Autopot and let her fill. Then I turned it off to see how long it'll take to suck up that water and nutes. I did 1/4th strength of Grow A + Grow B and about 15ml of Seasol. Did I mention, I started out with only half the Rez full to test. I didn't add manure, it's dried chicken poo fertilizer compost. It's been working wonders. I just piled it up around the stem and mixed it in with the perlite and coco and sprayed it down.

PH meter that I have sucks ass and I can't get it dialed in with the test solution of 7.0. So, I'm flying blind right now on the PH. Someone recommend me a decent PH meter that I can use to test the soil and test the water at the same time. These cheap $5 Chinese PH meters are shit.

Here are these 2 girls now in their new home.

This was the sad Auto Green Poison before the chicken s#it fertilizer and humidity dome. Her 2 main leaves have gotten bigger than the 60DW and her 2 new leaves have kicked in fast.

Here is the 60 day wonder, I just put some chicken poo fertilizer around her as well and mixed it in with the coco and perlite.
