There's no time to waste; let's get to the next grow!

Environment:

3 ft by 3 ft (.9 by .9 meters) grow tent

Virtual Sun 4” exhaust fan and carbon scrubber

Fox Farms Happy Frog tested out at 6.5 pH, combined 8-to-1 with perlite

3 gallon equivalent Air-Pots

Hydroponics Hut PG-260 LED panel (output: 259.2 watts)

Sun 150 watt HPS lamp (flowering period only)

tap water, “aged” and aerated.

Nutrients and amendments:

Fox Farm Trio and flowering Trio

General Hydroponics Armor Si

Azomite, 3 tbs per pot, pre planting.

Standing by, in case:

General Hydroponics pH Up and Down

Monterey Gardens Spinosad

Fox Farms Don't Bug Me

Azamax

Various other neem oil based products that I bought in a panic last grow

Strain:

Mephisto Genetics Toof Decay (2)

Mephisto Genetics 24 Carat (2)

Seed drop: September 3

Plant date: September 4

Day One: September 8

Changes from last grow:

  1. Larger tent-I felt kind of cheated not being able to grow my legal limit of four plants.

  2. More light: added a 150 watt HPS, for light and for heat

  3. Added Azomite to the soil. Why? Because I was stoned one night and ordered it; might as well use it, right?

  4. I reduced the soil/perlite ratio from 2:1 to 8:1. I got sick of looking at the sea of perlite during my last grow. In addition, I just made the soil level with the top of the air pots rather than trying to do a concave “bowl” type thing. It all evened itself up in short order last time anyway.
The only other change (other than making sure my soil doesn't have a pH of 5!) is that I will be chesterizing* my plants. I won't be tying them down; I don't think there's enough room in the tent for four plants to really spread out, so we'll just stick with getting extra light to the side branches.

First crisis of the grow: this new tent is a complete piece of shit. I shouldn't have cheaped out and gone with a no-name tent, but I did. I'm basically just using the frame to hold up the LED panel right now, and will be getting a 3X3 Gorilla Grow tent ASAP, probably by the end of the month. It'll be awkward, and will be a day of stress for the babies, but I'd rather do that then try to run the grow with this crappy tent.

Forgive me, but I'm going to skip the first day photos; I imagine you all know what one day old marijuana looks like, right?

*I think Chester calls it pony tailing; to me it's chesterizing!

All the best with this man!

Not sure if they're available over there, but the secret jardin dark street tents are a nice compromise between money and quality.
We must have had some of these for over 5 years and the zips on a couple are just starting to go now, but after being assembled and disassembled countless times and zipped and unzipped a few thousand times :)

That's definitely impressive! I'm going to go with the brand I know, though. And I'll never buy no-name equipment again. (The nicest feature of this new tent is the "home planetarium" feature: the left side of the front has more pin holes than a dart board! It's like sleeping under the stars. Well, next to the stars anyway.)

The 120 x 120 x 180 ones we used and still have were iirc £100-ish, the only thing that they lack is that 20cm of height, if you have a tall reflector you'll have it inches away from the ceiling if your plants get big, and they don't have as many openings for ducting and cords etc as the more premium versions, but they more than paid for themselves many times over.

No name can sometimes be absolutely fine, our parabolic reflectors for example , and adjustawing shades, in Spain they've made a copy which sells for cheaper but it's actually a slightly nicer design.
It can be a bit hit and miss with grow stuff where prices are always jacked up because of the nature of them.

Anyway! Good luck :)

What is chesterizing? Anyway good luck I look forward to seeing how these turn out!
It's my made up name for a training method that I stole from Chester; you use something (I'm going with pipe cleaners as I have plenty on hand) to kind of "bunch up" the leaves and allow light down to the lower branches when they're starting out to give them a jump on things. Check out post number four on this thread of Chester's: https://www.autoflower.org/index.php?threads/high-temps-nlbb-bubblelicious.45970/
