Mephisto Genetics BR549's Grow = Sour (Hound+Bubblin' Crack)

DAY 87: Well, I'm still having trouble getting on the site. I'm not the tech wiz I once was, but I can figure out things enough to know that the problem is on my end, nothing to do with the site itself. Anyway, it's kicked this grow log in the nuts. Sour Bubblin' Crack #1 came down Monday; here's a peek at her. Still a tad more drying to go. I put them in jars for six hours and they were still close to 80 Rh (oops! I'm still too inexperienced to time these things right!) so they're in the tray.

This is rather embarrassing, but here's something I will always think about before picking a strain from now on. The question I asked myself beforehand was "will it really smell like bubblegum?" (yes, it does). The question I should have asked is "Do I like the smell of bubblegum?" (no, I don't!). Whatcha wanna bet I smoke it anyway?

Sour Hound #1 came down on Wednesday. Wet weight on both of these was a bit over 10 ounces each (but notice my long stem fetish...); I'm figuring pretty close to two ounces each at the end, but we'll see.

I just noticed this while posting this photo: you can actually figure out how low each branch was on the plant. File it under "things that amaze noobs"!

Sour Hound #2 and Sour Bubblin' Crack #2 are still in the tent. SH is due to come down Monday, with SBC following on Wednesday. There are too many plant yoyos involved to pull 'em out until harvest day at this point.

The SBC has been a bit disconcerting. This was the infamous "leaner" of the grow. The buds decided to bolt (foxtail?) a couple of days AFTER her flush, and now her buds look like cauliflowers. I thought about switching the nutes back on, but I figured I'd just end up freaking her out and having her "go screw herself" so to speak. Here's a close up, though it's hard to tell from the photo:

I can't help wishing that it had happened before the flush...

Anyway, more updates as I'm able to post them. My next grow log may be missing the first couple of weeks (Blue Cush and more Sour Crack are the plan at this time) but then I did that this time, didn't I?

Made it once again, so here's a quick update. SH #2 came down Feb 29 (Day 90) and SBC#2 on Wednesday (Day 92). Both are still drying, of course. The other two are jarred up, but are still at about 66Rh, so no final weights yet. Looks like SBC#2 is going to be the star of the show, though; her colas (so sue me!) are thicker than I thought-they just looked so thin because of the length. Still hoping for 8 oz; I'm confident that 7 is in the bag, but you know how it is.

I planted the seeds yesterday for my next grow; two Blue Cush and two Sour Crack. I'm not going to start a grow journal until I get my computer situation straightened out.

@Sharpsthc -sorry about the delay in responding; I'm still having computer problems. I can get on no problem with my phone, but in this hick town, wifi is only around in a few scarce areas. It's like living in 2001...

Anyway, I do have the final weights now:

Sour Hound #1: 61.3 gm
Sour Hound #2: 44.1 gm
Sour Bubblin' Crack #1: 63.5 gm
Sour Bubblin' Crack #2: 62.3 gm

Total: 231.2 gm, or a touch over half a pound (yeah!). SH #2 was the only low point, and that was the leaner, so can't blame the plant-blame the farmer!

I'd tell you what they smoked like, but, believe it or not, I haven't tried them. Maybe it's just me, but after my experiences with the first two grows (and, more importantly, the curing process), it seems to me that any smoking I do now will just be wasted weed, and I have no problem waiting. Of course, if I didn't still have Toof Decay and 24 Carat on hand, I might not be so high and mighty. Well, certainly not so high...

Congrats on the Harvest buddy. I'm with you. I don't smoke the herb usually till its ready (although I have picked a nug here and there in the name of science! )I make oil with the small buds and trim usually which let's me experience each strain well before the buds are even dry
